Tuya Smart Camera User Manual

1. What’s Included

The package includes: Power adaptor, USB Cable, Smart PT camera Mounting Bracket, Screws & Reset Needle, and the User Manual.

2. Interface Introduction

The camera features a Lens, Light Sensor, Infrared Leds, Reset button, SD Card Slot, Speaker, Mic, and Antenna. The power input is DC5V/1.5A.

3. Installation Steps

3.1. Ceiling Install: Use the included mounting bracket to fix the camera to a clean surface.

3.2. Desk Install: Place the camera on a flat table or surface.

Reset: Long press with the needle for 5s to reset the camera.

SD Card Slot: Supports local SD Card storage (Max 128GB).

Light Sensor: Controls the IR switch in night mode.

Lens: 3.6mm with a 110-degree view angle.

IR Leds: 6pcs IR LEDs with a 10m IR distance.

Speaker: Supports two-way audio.

Mic: Captures sound for video recordings.

Antenna: 5DB antenna for Wi-Fi access.

Power: DC5V/1.5A input.

4. Download the APP

Search for "Tuya Smart" in the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code provided to download the application.

5. Register/Log in with Existing Account

5.1. Register: If you don't have an account, click "Create New Account". Read and agree to the Privacy Policy. You can register using a mobile number (China mobile numbers only) or an email address to receive a verification code.

5.2. Login with Existing Account: If you have an account, click "Log in with existing account". The system may automatically select your country/region, or you can select it manually. Enter your registered mobile number or email address and password to log in.

6. Add Devices

6.1. QR Code Connection:

1. Power on the camera. You should hear the broadcast "Wait for Wi-Fi configuration". If not, reset the camera to factory settings.
2. Tap "+" or "Add Device" in the app.
3. Select "Security & Sensor" then "Smart Camera".
4. Ensure QR Code mode is selected and tap "Next Step".
5. Input your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi name and password.
6. Click "Continue" and keep the camera near your mobile.
7. Scan the QR code displayed on your mobile screen with the camera lens.
8. When the connection is complete, click "Done".

6.2. EZ Mode Connection:

1. Tap "+" or "Add Device" in the app.
2. Select "Security & Sensor" then "Smart Camera".
3. Choose "EZ Mode" for pairing.
4. Input your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi name and password.
5. The app will search for nearby devices.
6. When the connection is completed, click "Done".

6.3. Cable Mode (Only for ODM models with LAN port):

1. Power on the camera and connect it to a network cable. Wait for the LED signal light to turn on.
2. Tap "+" or "Add Device" in the app.
3. Select "Security & Sensor" then "Smart Camera".
4. Choose "Cable Mode" for pairing.
5. The app will search for devices connected via LAN.
6. When the connection is completed, click "Done".

7. APP Settings

Key app settings include:

• 1. Camera Name: Edit the name, change the icon, and set the location.
• 2. Device Information: View owner, IP address, Device ID, Time Zone, and Wi-Fi Strength.
• 3. Scenes/Automations: Tap to run created scenes or automations.
• 4. Alexa/Google Support: Enable streaming to Echo Show/Dot, Google Nest Hub, Chromecast, etc. (Refer to Section 9).
• 5. Private Mode: Turn off the camera display in the app.
• 6. Basic Functions: Flip screen, Time watermark, and choose talk mode (one-way or two-way).
• 7. Detection Alarm: Configure motion detection, auto-tracking, alarm sensitivity, active area, human body filtering, sound detection, and schedules.
• 8. Siren Adjustment: Adjust the volume and duration of the siren.
• 9. Tuya VAS Service: Cloud storage options.
• 10. Offline Notification: Receive notifications when the device is offline.
• 11. FAQ and Feedback: Access common questions and provide feedback.
• 12. Share Device: Share the device with family or friends (requires accounts in the same area).
• 13. Add to Home Screen: Create a shortcut for the camera on your phone's home screen.
• 14. Device Update: Check for updates or enable auto-upgrade.
• 15. Remove Device: Delete or unbind the camera from your account.
• 16. Restart Device: Remotely restart the device.

Tips: Devices currently support only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi passwords should not contain special characters. Keep your phone and device close during configuration.

9. Google Assistant and Alexa

9.1. Precondition: Download and install the Google Home or Amazon Alexa app, register an account, and pair your smart speaker.

9.2. Pairing Tuya Smart to Smart Speaker App:

• Link with Google Home App: Login to Google Home, go to Settings > Assistant Settings > Home Control. Search for "Tuya Smart", authorize with your Tuya account. You can then control devices via voice commands like "Ok Google, show me the smart camera". You can assign custom names to devices (e.g., "front door").
• Link with Amazon Alexa App: Login to Amazon Alexa, go to Menu > Skills. Search for "Tuya Smart", click "Enable", and authorize with your Tuya account. Discover devices by saying "Alexa, discover the devices". You can then control devices via voice commands like "Alexa, show me the smart camera".

10. FAQ

Q1: How do I reset my camera to factory settings?
A1: Delete the camera from your app list or long-press the reset button for 8 seconds until you hear "Reset, camera reboot".

Q2: Why won't the camera connect to Wi-Fi even with the correct 2.4GHz password?
A2: Ensure your phone and camera use the same network. Verify your router has DHCP enabled. Restart the camera using the reset button. Ensure Wi-Fi signal strength is over 80%.

Q3: How do I change the camera to a different router?
A3: Delete the camera from your app list or long-press the reset button for 8 seconds, then reconfigure the camera.

Q4: Why is the SD card not recognized or videos not recording?
A4: Ensure the camera is set to record to the SD card in settings. The camera supports up to 128GB SD cards. Ensure the SD card is not damaged and formatted as FAT32.

Q5: Why am I not receiving alarm notifications when the device is online and motion is detected?
A5: Ensure push notifications are enabled in the Tuya Smart APP and for the specific device.

Q6: How do I access the camera on the web?
A6: Open https://ipc.ismartlife.me/login and use your Tuya app to scan the QR code to view the camera.
