- Door Edge Hole: 1" (25 mm)
- Door Bore Hole: 2-1/8" (54 mm)

Step 1: Door Drilling For New Installation
Use the provided TEMPLATE to mark the door, drill holes, and chisel out the mortise.
NOTE: If your door already has holes, skip to Step 2.
Drill from both sides of the door to prevent wood splitting.
Door Preparation:
- Mark the door using the template for the centerline, edge hole, and faceplate outline.
- Drill the 2-1/8" (54 mm) bore hole through the face of the door.
- Drill the 1" (25 mm) edge hole for the latch.
- Chisel out a 5/32" (4 mm) deep mortise for the latch faceplate.
Door Jamb Preparation:
- Use the strike plate as a template to mark the door jamb.
- Drill holes for the latch bolt and mounting screws.
- Chisel out a mortise so the strike plate fits flush with the door jamb surface.
Door Jamb Hole Dimensions:
- a. 1/2" (13 mm)
- b. 1-1/4" (32 mm)
- c. 1" (25 mm)
Strike Dimensions:
- d. 1/8" (3 mm)
- e. 2-5/16" (58 mm)
Step 2: Install the latch and strike
- Choose Faceplate: Select the correct faceplate for your door's edge.
-
Set the latch backset:
Your latch is set for a 2-3/8" (60 mm) backset. Adjust to 2-3/4" (70 mm) if needed (skip if your door has a 2-3/8" backset).
To adjust:
- Ensure the latch is in the correct position for the desired backset (2-3/8" or 2-3/4").
- If adjusting to 2-3/4", the drive-in collar may be used.
-
Install the latch:
Insert the latch into the edge hole. Ensure the "UP" arrow on the latch points upwards. Secure with screws (BB).
Tap the latch flush with the door edge.
-
Install strike plate in door jamb:
Position the strike plate on the door jamb. Ensure it is properly aligned so the bolt can move freely. Secure with screws (CC).
NOTE: Check the strike plate alignment to ensure the bolt moves freely.
Step 3: Change Handle Orientation For Right Or Left Swing Doors
How to determine door swing:
Face the door. If hinges are on the right, it's a Right Swing Door. If hinges are on the left, it's a Left Swing Door.
NOTE: The lock ships default for Right Swing Doors. You may skip this step if your door is a Right Swing Door. Continue if you have a Left Swing Door.
Instructions for changing orientation (refer to diagrams for visual guidance):
- Install the exterior assembly.
- Fasten the mounting plate (F) to the door using screws (AA). Ensure it is parallel to the door edge.
- Install the interior assembly.
- Connect the power cable firmly into the connector port. The metal connector side should face outward.
Step 4: Install The Lock Assemblies
-
Install Exterior Assembly:
Insert the exterior assembly through the door, aligning it with the latch mechanism.
-
Fasten Mounting Plate:
Secure the mounting plate (F) to the door using screws (AA), ensuring it remains parallel to the door edge.
-
Install Interior Assembly:
Align and attach the interior assembly to the mounting plate. Connect the power cable from the exterior assembly to the interior assembly's connector port. Ensure the metal connector side faces outward.
Switch Levers (Optional)
If your product has asymmetrical levers, you can switch the interior and exterior levers for a 180-degree rotation.
- Insert the catch tool (DD) into the hole in the lever.
- Push and hold the tool, then pull the lever off.
- Repeat for the other lever.
- Ensure the key teeth face up and the lever slot is oriented correctly.
- Push each lever back into place until it clicks.
TEMPLATE
NOTE: Double-check your product for the correct hole sizes before drilling.
Use this template to mark and drill holes for installation.
- Drill a 1" (25 mm) diameter hole at the center of the door edge.
- The template indicates hole sizes for different backsets (2-3/8" or 2-3/4") and door bore diameters (2-1/8").
