1️⃣ Step 1: Door Drilling For New Installation
1. Cut out the TEMPLATE and use it to mark the door, drill holes, and chisel out the mortise.
NOTE: If your door already has holes, skip to Step 2.
Drill from both sides of the door to prevent wood splitting.
Door Preparation Dimensions:
- Main Hole Diameter: 2-1/8" (54 mm)
- Edge Bore Diameter: 1" (25 mm)
- Backset Options: 2-3/8" (60 mm) or 2-3/4" (70 mm)
- Faceplate Mortise: Chisel 5/32" (3mm) deep.
Door Jamb Preparation: Use the strike plate as a template to drill latch and screw holes and chisel out the mortise. The strike plate must fit flush with the door jamb surface.
Door Jamb Hole Dimensions for Strike Plate:
- a. 1/2" (13 mm)
- b. 1-1/4" (32 mm)
- c. 1" (24 mm)
Strike Plate Dimensions:
- d. 1/8" (3 mm)
- e. 2-5/16" (58 mm)
2️⃣ Step 2: Install the latch and strike
1. Choose the correct faceplate for your door edge.
2. Set the latch backset: The latch is typically set for a 2-3/8" backset. Adjust to 2-3/4" if needed (skip if your door has a 2-3/8" backset).
Insert screws and tighten. Ensure the latch is tapped flush.
3. Install the strike plate in the door jamb. Ensure proper alignment so the bolt moves freely.
NOTE: Check the strike plate alignment for clear bolt movement.
3️⃣ Step 3: INSTALLING THE EXTERIOR LOCK ASSEMBLY
1. Choose handle direction. (If changing handle direction, set lock to auto-lock mode and remove batteries first).
2. Fasten the mounting plate to the door using the provided hardware.
3. Connect the power cable firmly into the connector port. Ensure the metal connector side faces outward.
4️⃣ SWITCH LEVERS (OPTIONAL)
If your product has asymmetrical levers, you can swap the interior and exterior levers for a 180-degree rotation.
This involves removing the inside lever, removing the outside lever, and then swapping them. The cylinder may need to be removed as well. Pay attention to key teeth orientation and lever slots.
TEMPLATE DETAILS
NOTE: Double-check your product for the correct hole sizes.
The template can be used to mark the door edge for drilling a 1" (25 mm) diameter hole at the center of the door edge.
It also indicates backset dimensions (2-3/8" or 2-3/4") and the main bore diameter (2-1/8" or 54mm).
