Installation Instructions
Before Proceeding:
- Check Door Dimensions: Ensure compatibility with 1-1/2" (38 mm) or 1" (25 mm) bore holes, and backsets of 2-3/8" (60 mm) or 2-3/4" (70 mm). An adapter collar is available for 35 mm - 51 mm holes.
- If your door requires drilling, familiarize yourself with safe drilling practices and door preparation steps.
Step 1: Drill Door For New Installation
Use the provided TEMPLATE to mark the door for drilling holes and chiseling the mortise. If your door already has holes, skip to Step 2.
Drilling: Drill from both sides of the door to prevent wood splitting. Ensure correct hole diameters (2-1/8" (54 mm) or 1-1/2" (38 mm) for the main hole, and 1" (25 mm) or 1-1/2" (38 mm) for the edge bore hole).
Step 2: Install the Latch and Strike
- Choose Faceplate: Select the appropriate faceplate for your door's edge.
- Set Latch Backset: Adjust the latch for a 2-3/8" (60 mm) or 2-3/4" (70 mm) backset as needed. The latch is pre-set for 2-3/8".
- Install Latch: Insert the latch into the edge of the door. Ensure it is flush. Use screws (CC) to tighten. For drive-in latches, tap flush.
- Install Strike Plate: Prepare the door jamb by using the strike plate as a template to drill holes and chisel the mortise. The strike plate must fit flush with the door jamb surface. Ensure alignment and clearance for the bolt.
Step 3: Install Electronic Deadbolt
- Install Lock Assemblies: Rotate the torque blade to fit into the latch. Ensure the latch bolt is in the retracted position. Route the cable underneath the latch.
- Fasten Mounting Plate: Secure the mounting plate to the door. Slide the cable through the notch in the mounting plate. The bulged part of the mounting plate should face the door. Do not leave the key in the cylinder during installation.
- Connect Cable: Connect the cable firmly into the connector port on the interior assembly. The metal connector side should face outward. Arrange the cable as shown in the diagram.
- Install Interior Assembly: Insert the torque blade into the interior slot of the thumbturn. Ensure the thumbturn is in the vertical position. Insert screws (BB) and tighten.
Step 4: Smart Plug Installation
- Insert the Smart Plug into a wall socket. The plug is now ready for Wi-Fi setup.
- Plug your desired electrical appliance into the Smart Plug.
- Note: Do not insert plugs in a row. Keep the Smart Plug parallel to the door edge.
Step 5: Program Lock
- Download Hubspace App: Get the app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
- Account Setup: Create an account or sign in.
- Add Lock: Tap the '+' button in the upper right corner to add your lock. Scan the QR code on the lockset or in the Lock Quick Start Guide. The lock will perform a direction check automatically.
- Add Smart Plug: Tap the '+' button to add your plug by scanning the QR code on the plug or in the Smart Plug Quick Start Guide. If the QR code cannot be scanned, enter the code manually via the 'Enter Code' option.
- Wi-Fi Gateway Setup: Set up your Smart Plug as a Wi-Fi Gateway for remote control. Tap 'Smart Plug' from the homepage in the Hubspace app and find 'Wi-Fi gateway support to another device'. This enables remote access to your lock via your phone.
- Voice Assistant Setup: Connect your smart plug to Google Home and Alexa through the Hubspace app, or sign in to the respective apps to connect your Hubspace devices.
Hubspace App Quick Start Guide Notes:
- Bluetooth connection range is approximately 30 feet (10 meters), but can vary based on obstacles. For best connectivity, place the Smart Plug near the lock.
