Camera Installation
- Perform a network diagnosis. Bring the camera to the planned installation location and open the app.
- Tap the 'Settings' icon in the bottom right of the preview screen.
- Navigate to 'Installation Guide' and tap it.
- Tap 'Next' until you reach the 'Network Diagnosis' page. For optimal use, ensure the Wi-Fi signal strength at the installation location remains 'Strong'.
- For optimal results, install the camera at a height of approximately 2.5 meters above the ground on a wall. Ensure there are no obstructions within 1 meter in the camera's horizontal field of view. Avoid placing the camera behind trees.
- Choose the installation tools that suit your needs.
- Using the Wall Mount:
- ① Secure the wall mount to a drillable surface using screws.
- ② Slide the camera into the wall mount until it clicks securely.
- Using the Strap:
- ① Thread the strap through the opening in the wall mount.
- ② Thread the strap through the buckle, tighten it, and secure it to a post or tree.
Tips for Optimal Motion Detection:
A. Camera Installation Based on Field of View:
- Check your camera's viewing angle to ensure the surveillance area is well within the field of view.
- The ideal viewing distance is 2-10 meters for optimal detection. For best results, the camera should not be installed too far or too high; the recommended height is 2.5 meters.
B. Installation Based on PIR Motion Sensor Detection:
- The PIR motion sensor detects motion within a maximum range of 10 meters and a horizontal angle of 130°. Ensure that motion within this range is captured.
- The PIR sensor is more sensitive to side-to-side movements than direct movements towards the camera.
Tips for Reducing False Alarms:
- Avoid installing the camera facing bright lights such as sunlight or bright lamps.
- Do not point the camera lens directly at the street; it is recommended to place the camera at least 10 meters away from driveways or roads.
- Keep the camera away from vents such as air conditioner outlets, humidifiers, and heat vents from projectors.
- Avoid pointing the camera at mirrors or glass surfaces.
- Keep the camera at least 1 meter away from any wireless devices, including Wi-Fi routers, to avoid interference.
Improving Detection Accuracy:
- Set the sensitivity level to high.
- Position the camera to detect side-to-side movements rather than direct approach for better motion detection.
- Mount the camera at an optimal height of 2.5 meters. Avoid installing it too low or too high, as this may affect alarm detection.
- Ensure the target is within the ideal detection range of the PIR sensor, from 2 to 10 meters.
Night Vision
To adjust night vision settings, start the app and navigate to 'Settings → Image Settings → Full Color Mode.' You can choose from three night vision modes in the app.
Note: Night vision quality may be affected by nearby obstructions. Ensure there are no obstructions within 1 meter in the camera's horizontal field of view. Avoid placing the camera behind trees or around corners.
Recording and Playback
CZEview battery-powered cameras only record when motion is detected, not continuously. Recordings can be stored on a microSD card (not included) or in the cloud (subscription required).
Before Recording:
I. For SD Card Users:
- Use a microSD card with a capacity between 8GB and 256GB. (A 32GB SD card can store up to 6 months of video, for reference.)
- After inserting the SD card, go to 'Settings' → 'Recording Control' to check if 'SD Card Capacity' is displayed in the app. If so, tap 'Format' to prepare the card.
- If 'SD Card Capacity' is not displayed, reinsert the SD card and check under 'Recording Control'. If the problem persists, try a different SD card.
II. For Cloud Storage Users:
- The camera includes a lifetime, free 7-day basic cloud storage where motion-triggered videos are stored for 7 days before being overwritten.
- The free basic cloud plan records 6-second clips. For longer recordings, subscribe to a different cloud plan or use an SD card.
Setting Up Recording:
I. For Cloud Storage Users:
- Tap the 'Settings' icon in the bottom right of the preview screen.
- Go to 'Cloud Storage Service' and tap it.
