  3. Check if the red indicator light is blinking slowly, meaning the camera is ready for Wi-Fi setup.
  4. If the red light is not blinking, press the 'Power' button to activate the camera, then press and hold the 'Reset' button for 3-6 seconds until you hear a 'cuckoo' sound. Then, you will hear three quick 'Ding, Ding, Ding' tones, and the red light will blink slowly, indicating the camera is ready for Wi-Fi setup.
  5. Ensure the 'CZEview' app is downloaded and opened.
  6. Select the correct device type and model in the app.
  7. Ensure your network is stable and keep the camera and phone close to the router during setup.
  8. Enter the Wi-Fi password (8-32 characters) exactly as it appears in the manual.
  9. Do not use emojis, special characters, or symbols in your Wi-Fi name or password. Avoid public networks.
  10. Networks with web authentication are not supported.
  11. Ensure your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) is visible.
  12. VPNs and proxy servers will not work.

Method 1: Connecting via Bluetooth (Recommended)

Note: Please allow the app to access your Bluetooth and location services for a successful connection.

  1. On the home screen, select 'Scan Code' in the top right to add a device. Then tap 'Start Scan' and point the camera at the QR code on the camera body sticker.
  2. The camera to be connected will be displayed. Tap 'Start Configuration' to proceed.

  4. Select the same Wi-Fi network your phone is connected to and enter the password.
  5. Allow the app to access your location.
  6. Wait for the 'cuckoo' sound, which signals the start of the connection. The indicator light should turn solid blue, confirming successful setup. Then, let the app establish a connection to the camera on your local network and press 'Next' to name your camera.

Caution:

1. If a 'Connection Error' message appears during Wi-Fi setup, tap 'Add Again' in the top left corner and follow these steps:

Camera Installation

  1. Perform a network diagnosis. Bring the camera to the planned installation location and open the app.
    • Tap the 'Settings' icon in the bottom right of the preview screen.
    • Navigate to 'Installation Guide' and tap it.
    • Tap 'Next' until you reach the 'Network Diagnosis' page. For optimal use, ensure the Wi-Fi signal strength at the installation location remains 'Strong'.
  2. For optimal results, install the camera at a height of approximately 2.5 meters above the ground on a wall. Ensure there are no obstructions within 1 meter in the camera's horizontal field of view. Avoid placing the camera behind trees.
  3. Choose the installation tools that suit your needs.
    • Using the Wall Mount:
    • ① Secure the wall mount to a drillable surface using screws.
    • ② Slide the camera into the wall mount until it clicks securely.
    • Using the Strap:
    • ① Thread the strap through the opening in the wall mount.
    • ② Thread the strap through the buckle, tighten it, and secure it to a post or tree.

Tips for Optimal Motion Detection:

A. Camera Installation Based on Field of View:

  1. Check your camera's viewing angle to ensure the surveillance area is well within the field of view.
  2. The ideal viewing distance is 2-10 meters for optimal detection. For best results, the camera should not be installed too far or too high; the recommended height is 2.5 meters.

B. Installation Based on PIR Motion Sensor Detection:

  1. The PIR motion sensor detects motion within a maximum range of 10 meters and a horizontal angle of 130°. Ensure that motion within this range is captured.
  2. The PIR sensor is more sensitive to side-to-side movements than direct movements towards the camera.

Tips for Reducing False Alarms:

  1. Avoid installing the camera facing bright lights such as sunlight or bright lamps.
  2. Do not point the camera lens directly at the street; it is recommended to place the camera at least 10 meters away from driveways or roads.
  3. Keep the camera away from vents such as air conditioner outlets, humidifiers, and heat vents from projectors.
  4. Avoid pointing the camera at mirrors or glass surfaces.
  5. Keep the camera at least 1 meter away from any wireless devices, including Wi-Fi routers, to avoid interference.

Improving Detection Accuracy:

  1. Set the sensitivity level to high.
  2. Position the camera to detect side-to-side movements rather than direct approach for better motion detection.
  3. Mount the camera at an optimal height of 2.5 meters. Avoid installing it too low or too high, as this may affect alarm detection.
  4. Ensure the target is within the ideal detection range of the PIR sensor, from 2 to 10 meters.

Night Vision

To adjust night vision settings, start the app and navigate to 'Settings → Image Settings → Full Color Mode.' You can choose from three night vision modes in the app.

Note: Night vision quality may be affected by nearby obstructions. Ensure there are no obstructions within 1 meter in the camera's horizontal field of view. Avoid placing the camera behind trees or around corners.

Recording and Playback

CZEview battery-powered cameras only record when motion is detected, not continuously. Recordings can be stored on a microSD card (not included) or in the cloud (subscription required).
