Install the Camera
1. Perform a Network Diagnosis.
- Take the camera to the intended installation area and open the app.
- Tap the 'Settings' icon at the bottom right of the preview window.
- Navigate to 'Installation Guide' and tap it.
- Tap 'Next' until you reach the 'Network Diagnosis' page. For optimal performance, ensure the WiFi signal strength at the installation location is 'Strong'. The current place is good, you can install the camera.
2. For optimal results, install the camera on the wall at a height of approximately 2.5 meters from the ground. Ensure there are no obstacles within 1 meter of the camera's horizontal field of view. Avoid placing the camera behind trees or around corners, as this may impact night vision.
3. Choose the installation tools that suit your needs.
I. Using the wall bracket
- Secure the wall bracket to a drillable surface using screws.
- Slide the camera into the wall bracket until it clicks into place.
II. Using the strap
- Pass the strap through the opening in the wall bracket.
- Slide the camera onto the base until it is secure.
Tips for Optimal Motion Detection:
A. Camera Installation Based on Viewing Field:
- Check your camera's viewing angle to ensure the monitoring area is well within its field of view.
- The ideal viewing distance is 2-10 meters for optimal recognition. For best results, avoid placing the camera too far or too high; the recommended height is 2.5 meters.
B. Installation Based on PIR Motion Sensor Detection:
- The PIR motion sensor detects motion within a maximum range of 10 meters and a 130° horizontal angle. Ensure movements are within this range to be detected.
- The PIR Sensor is more sensitive to side-to-side movement than direct movement toward the camera.
Tips for Reducing False Alarms:
- Avoid installing the camera facing bright lights, including sunlight or bright lamps.
- Do not point the camera lens directly at the road; it is recommended to keep the camera at least 10 meters away from driveways or roads.
- Keep the camera away from outlets, such as air conditioner vents, humidifiers, and heat vents of projectors.
- Avoid positioning the camera facing mirrors or glass surfaces.
- Keep the camera at least 1 meter away from any wireless devices, including Wi-Fi routers, to avoid interference.
Tips for Improving Detection Accuracy:
- Set the sensitivity level to high.
- Position the camera to capture side-to-side movement rather than direct approaches for better motion detection.
- Mount the camera at an optimal height of 2.5 meters. Avoid placing it too low or too high, as this can hinder alarm detection.
- Ensure the target is within the PIR sensor's ideal detection range of 2 to 10 meters.
Night Vision
To adjust the night vision settings, launch the app and navigate to 'Settings → Image Settings → Full Color Mode.' You can choose from three night vision modes in the app.
Note: The night vision quality may be impacted by nearby obstacles. Please ensure there are no obstacles within 1 meter of the camera's horizontal field of view. Avoid placing the camera behind trees or around corners.
Recording and Playback
CZEview battery-powered cameras record only when motion is detected, not continuously. Recordings can be saved to a micro SD card (not included) or to the cloud (subscription required).
Before Recording:
I. For SD Card Users:
- Use a micro SD card with a capacity between 8GB and 256GB. (A 32GB SD card can store up to 6 months of video for reference.)
- After inserting the SD card, go to 'Settings' → 'Recording Management' to check if 'SD Card Capacity' appears in the app. If it does, tap 'Format' to prepare the card.
- If 'SD Card Capacity' is not displayed, reinsert the SD card and check again in 'Recording Management.' If the issue persists, try a different SD card.
II. For Cloud Storage Users:
- The camera includes lifetime free 7-day basic cloud storage, where motion-triggered videos are saved for 7 days before being overwritten.
- The basic free cloud plan records 6-second clips. For longer recordings, consider subscribing to a different cloud plan or using an SD card.
