Capabilities

Shreds: Paper, credit cards, and staples.

Does Not Shred: Continuous forms, adhesive labels, transparencies, newspaper, cardboard, paper clips, laminates, or plastic other than noted above.

• Confetti-Cut: 5/32" x 2" (3.9 x 50mm)

*Based on 20lb., 8.5"x11" paper at 120v, 60Hz, 2.0 Amps; heavier paper, humidity, or other than rated voltage may reduce capacity.

Important Safety Instructions

WARNING:

• Keep away from children and pets. Always unplug or set safety lock when not in use.
• Keep foreign objects – gloves, jewelry, clothing, hair, etc. – away from shredder openings. If an object enters the top opening, switch to Reverse (R) to back out the object.
• Never use aerosol, petroleum-based, or other flammable products on or near the shredder. Do not use canned air on the shredder.
• Do not use if damaged or defective. Do not open the shredder head. Do not place near or over a heat or water source.
• Limit to 6 sheets per pass to avoid jams.
• Avoid touching exposed blades under the Confetti-Cut shredder head.
• The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

Operation

Insert waste bag (Fellowes #36052) for easy disposal.

Continuous Operation Note: Shredder runs briefly after each pass to clear entry. Continuous operation beyond 5-7 minutes will trigger a 20-minute cool down period.

Shredding Paper

1. Check paper amount.
2. Set control switch to Auto-On (I).
3. Feed paper into the paper entry and release.
4. Set control switch to Off (O) and unplug.

Shredding Cards

1. Set control switch to Auto-On (I).
2. Hold card by the edge.
3. Feed card into the center of the entry and release.
4. Set control switch to Off (O) and unplug.

Safety Lock

The safety lock prevents accidental operation.

• To set lock: Wait for shredding to stop, push the black button down and slide until the red indicator is visible.
• To unlock: Push the black button down and slide until the green indicator is visible.

For greater safety, always unplug the shredder after use.

Troubleshooting

Paper Jam

Set to Off (O), remove shredder head and empty bin. Replace shredder head, and follow any or all of the below procedures:

• Set to Reverse (R) for 2-3 seconds.
• Alternate slowly back and forth between Reverse (R) and Off (O).
• Set to Off (O) and unplug. Remove shredder head and cut hanging shreds. Replace shredder head. Plug in.

Shredder Doesn't Start

• Make sure the shredder head is on the basket correctly.
• Wait 20 minutes for the motor to cool down.
• Remove and empty the bin.
• Make sure the safety lock is in the unlock (green) position.

Maintenance

Follow the oiling procedure below and repeat twice.

1. Set control switch to Reverse (R).
2. Apply oil across the entry. (Note: Only use a non-aerosol vegetable oil in a long nozzle container.)
3. Set control switch to Auto-On (I).
4. Shred one sheet.
5. Set control switch to Reverse (R) for 2-3 seconds.

Lubrication for Confetti-Cut models only: Lubricate when the bin is full, or immediately if capacity decreases, the motor sounds different, or the shredder stops running.

Warranty

LIMITED WARRANTY

Fellowes, Inc. ("Fellowes") warrants the cutting blades of the machine to be free from defects in material and workmanship for 3 years from the date of purchase by the original consumer. Fellowes warrants all other parts of the machine to be free of defects in material and workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase by the original consumer. If any part is found to be defective during the warranty period, your sole and exclusive remedy will be repair or replacement, at Fellowes' option and expense, of the defective part.

This warranty does not apply in cases of abuse, mishandling, or unauthorized repair. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY, INCLUDING THAT OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, IS HEREBY LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE APPROPRIATE WARRANTY PERIOD SET FORTH ABOVE. In no event shall Fellowes be liable for any consequential or incidental damages attributable to this product.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights. The duration, terms, and conditions of this warranty are valid worldwide, except where different limitations, restrictions, or conditions may be required by local law.
