Safety Warnings
WARNING: Failure to follow these warnings and instructions could result in serious injury or death.
- Prevent serious injury or death from falls or sliding out. Always secure the child in the restraint system.
- Never leave the child unattended.
- The child should be secured in the high chair at all times by the 5-point restraining system (in reclining, semi-reclining, or upright position). The tray is not designed to hold the child in the chair.
- It is recommended that the high chair be used in the upright position only by children capable of sitting upright unassisted.
- Other accessory items may change the balance of the high chair and cause hazardous unstable conditions; use only approved Baby Trend toys.
- Ensure the high chair is fully erect and latched in the open position before allowing a child near it.
- Using the high chair with a child weighing more than 40 pounds (18.14 kg) will cause excessive wear and stress.
- The maximum weight for the basket is 5 pounds (2.26 kg). Excessive weight may cause an unstable condition.
- Never allow the high chair to be used as a toy.
- Never use this product if there are any loose or missing fasteners, loose joints, broken parts, or torn mesh/fabric. Check before assembly and periodically during use. Contact Baby Trend Customer Service for replacement parts or repair. Never substitute parts.
If you experience difficulty with assembly, missing parts, or use, do not return the item to the store. Contact our Customer Service Department directly for assistance.
Assembly Instructions
Adult assembly is required. Always check that the high chair is locked in the open position before using.
- Place the Seat Base on a flat surface.
- Join the Seat Back to the Seat Base using the Seat Back Hinge Rod. To install, press down on the hinge rod retainer and insert the rod from right to left.
- Slide the left and right Height Brackets onto the Seat Base and snap them into place.
- Slide the Footrest onto the Seat Base and snap it into place.
- Insert the front tube of the right side Upper Frame Assembly into the corresponding Height Bracket. The front tube has holes on the backside.
- Squeeze the Red Release Handle and push the tube through the Height Bracket until it locks in the highest position.
- Repeat steps 5 and 6 for the left side Upper Frame Assembly.
- Insert the front legs into the ends of the front tube of both the right and left Upper Frame Assemblies. Ensure the push buttons align with the holes on the ends of the Upper Frame Assemblies for a secure connection.
- Insert the rear legs into the ends of the rear tube of both the right and left Upper Frame Assemblies.
- Attach each of the casters and front wheels to the high chair feet. Ensure all wheels and casters are securely fastened.
- Flip over the Tray to attach the Crotch Retainer. Orient the plastic housing with the slot facing the front of the Tray. Insert and tighten the 4 screws (3.5mm x 10). Do not overtighten.
- To attach the Seat Pad: Loop the flap on the back of the pad over the top of the Seat Back. Connect the Seat Pad to the Seat Back using the two Elastic Loops, fitting them over the Attachment Tabs.
- Attach the bottom of the Seat Pad to the Seat Base using the two Elastic Loops located at the rear of the pad. These loops fit over the Attachment Tabs on the Seat Base. Set the Seat Insert onto the Seat Pad.
- Thread the non-buckle end of the Harness Straps (Harness Attachment Tabs) through the provided slots in the Seat Fabric, Seat Insert, Seat Back, and Seat Base. Rotate the Harness Attachment Tabs 90 degrees to ensure the straps are firmly in place.
Operation Instructions
To Open High Chair:
- Push the legs apart until fully open and locked.
- Push downward on the fold levers (left and right) to ensure the frame is locked open. The chair is now ready for use.
To Use Safety Belt:
- Place your child's arms through the loops formed by the shoulder and waist straps.
- Place the crotch strap between your child's legs.
- Insert the Harness Buckles into the Center Clasp with the Red Button.
- Adjust shoulder and waist straps for your child's comfort and safety by sliding buckles. Safety straps should fit snugly.
To Release Safety Belt:
- Push the Red Button on the Center Clasp; the two Harness Buckles will pop free.
To Adjust Seat Height:
- Squeeze both the left and right levers of the Height Adjustment Bracket and adjust to the desired position.
- Always check that the height adjustment bracket is level and both sides are locked before placing a child in the high chair.
To Attach and Operate Tray:
- Line up the grooves on the bottom of the tray with the armrests of the high chair.
- Squeeze the Tray's release handle and slide the tray onto the armrests. The Tray has a 3-position adjustment.
- To adjust the position, squeeze the Tray's release handle located underneath the tray and reposition it to the desired position. Release the handle and check that the Tray is securely locked.
- To attach the Insert Tray: Snap the dishwasher-safe food Tray Insert onto the High Chair Tray. Ensure it snaps into place.
To Recline Seat:
- Squeeze the recline lever on the back of the seat and adjust to the preferred recline or upright position. Be careful not to pinch the child's arms, hands, or legs during adjustment.
To Fold High Chair:
- Place the Seat Back in the most upright position.
- Squeeze the tray release handle and slide the tray out. Hang the tray on the hooks located on the back of the rear leg.
- Pull upward on the release levers (located on the sides of the frame) and push the rear legs in the direction of the front legs until folded. The chair is now ready to put away.
- DO NOT allow your child to play around a folded high chair, as it may fall.
To Unfold High Chair:
- Push the legs apart until fully open and locked.
- Push downward on the fold levers (left and right) to ensure the frame is locked.
Care and Maintenance
WARNING: Harness Straps and Basket are NOT washable.
- Dishwasher Safe Tray Insert: The Tray Insert is dishwasher safe to 160 degrees Fahrenheit. Do not use scouring pads, as they can damage the surface.
- High Chair/Tray: Clean the high chair and tray after each use with mild household dish soap. Use a soft bristle brush, sponge, or cloth. Do not submerge the high chair or tray in water. Surface clean only.
- Seat Pad (Non-Washable): Use a sponge or cloth with mild household detergents for surface cleaning. DO NOT MACHINE WASH.
- Seat Pad (Washable): Machine wash COLD DELICATE CYCLE with non-chlorine based detergent. DO NOT USE BLEACH. HANG DRY. DO NOT MACHINE DRY.
- Basket: Some models include a basket for storage. If your model has a basket, it is attached by four snaps. Release these snaps to remove. To attach, feed snap strips around basket slots underneath the seat base and press firmly on the four snaps.
