Honeywell N360X Series
Compact, Undecoded 2D Imager
The N360X Series is Honeywell's offering for enhanced performance in its line of compact 2D scan engines for mobile devices. It is available with either an LED or laser aimer.
The N360X Series 2D barcode scan engine is a very compact, undecoded 2D imager designed for integration into mobile devices. It leverages Honeywell's extensive decoding experience and hardware performance to deliver an easy-to-integrate, enhanced performance device suitable for compact mobile device designs.
Featuring parallel or MIPI interface availability, the N360X Series simplifies integration into mobile devices utilizing both current and traditional processor interfaces. Its compact dimensions (8.1 mm [0.32 in] height x 10.8 mm [0.43 in] depth) are among the smallest in its class, freeing up valuable space for other technology integrations.
Built on a 1 Mpx rolling shutter sensor, the N360X Series offers an 80% increase in read range compared to traditional VGA sensor-based imagers. It can read EAN 100% at a distance of 541 mm [21.3 in] (typical read range). The new sensor supports higher resolution codes, reading down to 3 mils on Code 39 1D barcodes. The white LED illumination system improves image capture results and the readability of colored barcodes.
The N360X Series is equipped with either a high-definition green LED dot aimer (N3601), suitable for customer-facing and healthcare applications, or a thin, bright laser aiming system (N3603). The laser aimer facilitates reading multiple barcodes positioned closely together and is more visible in both low-light and bright-light conditions.
With a wide operational temperature range of -20°C to 50°C [-4°F to 122°F], the N360X Series is suitable for more demanding applications. Its lower power consumption (152 mA to 170 mA at 3.3 V, typical) extends battery life on a single charge.
