Setup
Follow these steps to get your JLab Talk PRO microphone connected and ready.

Connect the USB-C cable to the Talk PRO microphone.
Connect the other end to a USB input on your PC or MAC.

Adjust your PC or Mac settings to ensure the connection is recognized.

Talk PRO Setup with PC / MAC
For PC (Windows 7, 8, or 10):
- Select Control Panel from the Start menu.
- Select the Sound icon within the Control Panel.
- Go to the Recording tab and select "JLab Talk PRO" as your input device.
- Go to the Playback tab and select "JLab Talk PRO" as your output device.
For Mac (macOS 10.10 or Higher):
- Open System Preferences and select the Sound icon.
- Go to the Input tab and select "JLab Talk PRO".
- Go to the Output tab and select "JLab Talk PRO".
- From this screen, set the Output Volume to your desired level.
Controls
Familiarize yourself with the microphone's controls.
Front Panel
- Recording Settings: Adjusts recording parameters.
- Mute On/Off: ? to silence or unmute the microphone.
- Volume / Gain Interface: Controls audio input level.
- Pickup Pattern Selector: ?️ to choose recording modes.
Back Panel
- Gain Control: ?️ to adjust microphone sensitivity.
- Volume Control: ?️ to adjust headphone or speaker output volume.
Underside
- 3.5mm AUX Output: ? for monitoring audio.
- 5/8" Thread Mount: ? for attaching to microphone stands.
- LED Indicator: Shows microphone status.
- USB-C Input: ? for connecting to your computer.
Pickup Patterns
Select the best pattern for your recording environment.
Cardioid
Ideal for single-source recording, capturing audio primarily from the front of the microphone. ➡️
Omni
Captures sound equally from all directions, suitable for group discussions or ambient sound. ?
Stereo
Records audio with distinct left and right channels, creating a wider soundstage. ?
Bidirectional
Captures sound from both the front and the back of the microphone, useful for interviews with two people facing each other. ↔️
In Use
Ensure optimal audio quality with correct microphone placement.

- Talk PRO works with almost all recording software installed on macOS, Windows, or Linux. Check the settings in the software and make desired adjustments.
- No extra drivers or software are needed for Talk PRO. Just connect and configure in device settings.
- Talk PRO does not work through a power bank or battery pack. It requires a direct USB-A input connection with an operating system.
