Important Information
Read this important information before proceeding.
Precautions
- Do not expose watches to extreme temperatures.
- Avoid rough handling and dropping.
- Do not fasten the watch band too tightly. A finger should pass between your wrist and the band.
- Clean with a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile agents like gasoline, solvents, or spray cleaners.
- Store watches in a dry place when not in use.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc., as chemical reactions can damage gaskets, cases, and polish.
Battery
The battery installed at the factory is discharged during shipping and storage. If you notice signs of low power (dim display), replace the battery at an authorized CASIO service center or dealer.
Water Resistance
Watches are classified by water resistance level (I to V). Consult the table to determine correct usage.
Level | Case Marking | Splash, Rain, Washing | Swimming, Snorkeling | Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|
I | Yes | No | No | |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Level I watches are not water-resistant. Avoid all moisture.
- Level II (WR) means water-resistant according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water is acceptable.
- Level III (5 Bar/50 meters) watches can withstand water pressure and are suitable for showering and brief swimming.
- Level IV (10 Bar/100 meters) watches are suitable for regular swimming and snorkeling.
- Level V (20 Bar/200 meters) watches are suitable for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Care of Your Watch
Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
The rubber gasket, which protects against water and dust, should be replaced every 2-3 years.
If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by a dealer or CASIO distributor.
Strap Care
- Be careful when cleaning straps with silk-screened images to avoid damaging the designs.
- For plastic straps: A white powdery substance may appear; this is harmless and can be wiped off. Sweat or moisture can damage plastic straps. Wipe them clean regularly.
- For fluorescent cases and straps: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to fade. Contact with moisture can also cause fading. Wipe off moisture promptly. Rubbing fluorescent surfaces can transfer the color.
Radio Controlled Timekeeping
This section explains how to use the radio-controlled timekeeping feature.
Receiving the Time Signal
Your watch can receive a time signal and adjust its time automatically. There are two methods:
- Automatic Reception: The watch automatically receives the signal five times a day (0:00, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 AM).
- Manual Reception: You can initiate reception by performing specific button operations (see "Manual Signal Reception").
Conditions for Reception:
- Place the watch near a window, away from metal objects. The 12 o'clock position should face the window.
- Avoid areas with strong electromagnetic interference (TVs, refrigerators, computers), near radio stations, inside reinforced concrete structures, underground, in tunnels, near high-voltage power lines, neon signs, or noisy radio transmitters, near railways, highways, or airports, or inside trains or cars.
- Nighttime reception is generally better than daytime reception.
Signal Reception Indicator
An indicator shows the quality of the received signal. For optimal reception, place the watch in an area with the strongest signal.
[Diagram: Illustration of signal indicator levels, from weak to strong.]
Manual Signal Reception
- Place the watch on a flat surface with the 12 o'clock side facing the transmitter.
- In Current Time Mode, press and hold the [D] button for 2 seconds until a beep sounds.
- Press the [D] button again to exit reception mode.
Reception takes 2 to 12 minutes. Do not move the watch or press buttons during this time.
If the signal is not received, an "ERR" message may appear.
Troubleshooting Radio Signal Reception
