Introduction
1.1 SEE378
The SEE378 Anti-Vandal Dome camera features a tough metal exterior, making it suitable for both outdoor and indoor use. This 4K model, also known as 8MP, delivers stunning Ultra-HD quality, capturing fine details. It is designed for high-end installations and is compatible with 4K DVRs, such as the Zip Xtreme. Its 4K resolution and true day-night filter make it an excellent choice for professional installers.

- Drill
- 12V DC PSU
- Drill bits
- BNC Crimp Tool & BNCs
- RG59 Coax Cable
- Digital Multi-Meter
- LCD400K - CCTV Test monitor
Connections & Dipswitches
The camera requires a 2.1mm DC socket for power, using a regulated 12V DC power supply rated above the camera's current draw. The camera is polarity sensitive, so connections must be made correctly.
A standard BNC connector provides the 4-in-1 video output, which can be switched to AHD, CVI, or CVBS formats as needed.
Dipswitch 4-In-1 Technology
The camera supports selectable HD-TVI, HD-CVI, AHD, and CVBS (Analogue) outputs. By default, the camera is set to HD-TVI. The output format can be changed using the dip switches located on the camera's fly-lead. Note that the "Output Mode" setting in the DVR's menu does not override the dip switch configuration.
Dip switch configuration:

Mounting
5.1 Anti-Vandal Dome
Step 1: Loosen the three Torx screws in the upper housing and lift off the housing (Torx key is supplied).
Step 2: Screw through the camera's base and into the mounting surface using the provided screws and wall plugs.
Step 3: Once the camera is positioned, replace the upper housing and fasten the three Torx screws.
A template is included in the box for marking the hole positions for the fixing screws.

7.2 Key Menu Settings
Exposure Mode: AUTO / GLOBE / GLOBAL sets the required shutter speed for the current light level. The shutter speed automatically adjusts to keep the digital sensor exposed to light. The FLK option sets the shutter speed to stop synchronization with lighting, minimizing pulsing effects.
White Balance: Adjusts color settings to make objects appear natural. ATW / PRO (Automatic tracking white balance) continuously tracks and adjusts white balance, suitable for cameras with changing image content and lighting.
Day & Night: The camera can be set to color or B&W mode, or switch automatically. 'External' is the default, where the switch is controlled by an external trigger, such as a light-dependent resistor.
DNR (Noise Reduction): This process removes noise from the video signal using a digital filter. 2D noise reduction targets foreground noise, while 3D noise reduction addresses noise in both the foreground and background.
D-WDR: Digitally adjusts exposure in different frame areas to maintain optimum levels in both dark and bright regions. Note: Some models may not feature D-WDR.
Reset: Restores the camera to factory default settings. This is useful for troubleshooting when issues arise, ensuring all settings are reset.
Troubleshooting
8.1 Camera Rebooting / Turning Off
- Check the camera's voltage under load using a digital multi-meter. If below 10.8V, move the power supply closer to the camera.
- For 12V DC cameras, use only a regulated power supply rated above the current consumption to ensure consistent supply.
- Use thicker gauge copper cabling to reduce voltage drop. Thicker cable lowers resistance between the camera and power supply, thus reducing voltage drop along the cable.
8.2 Poor Quality Images
- Check the video format supported by the DVR (digital video recorder) and set the camera to the relevant format (refer to 4-In-1 Technology).
- If set to CVBS, this is a low-quality output for legacy systems. For 2 MegaPixel DVRs or above, use a different format like HD-TVI.
- Reset the camera menu via Zip Coaxitron (refer to OSD Menu, page 5).
- Verify that the DVR supports the camera's resolution.
8.3 Image is Black & White
- Check the video format supported by your DVR and set the camera to the relevant format (refer to 4-In-1 Technology).
- Reset the camera menu via Zip Coaxitron (refer to OSD Menu, page 5).
- Verify that the DVR supports the camera's resolution.
8.4 NCD / No Image Displayed on Recorder
- Check the camera's voltage under load using a digital multi-meter. If below 10.8V, move the power supply closer to the camera.
- For 12V DC cameras, use only a regulated power supply rated above the current consumption to ensure consistent supply.
- Use thicker gauge copper cabling to reduce voltage drop. Thicker cable lowers resistance between the camera and power supply, thus reducing voltage drop along the cable.
- Ensure the BNC-BNC lead connected between the camera and DVR has no shorts between ground and the center core (positive), or open circuits along the center core or ground.
General Maintenance
Routinely clean the camera to prevent dust buildup, which can affect performance. A damp, non-abrasive microfibre cloth is recommended.
Regularly check power and data connections for water ingress and corrosion.
Ensure cameras are firmly attached to the wall or mounting bracket.
Check playback on the recorder to confirm the camera is recording and triggering correctly.
