Powering the Camera
The camera can be powered in two ways:
- Option 1: 12V DC Power
Connect to a 12V DC power source via the 2.1mm DC socket. The current consumption is 400mA. Note that the camera is polarity sensitive, so connections must be made correctly.
- Option 2: PoE (Power over Ethernet)
Connect the camera using a PoE 48V RJ45 socket. When using a ZIP PoE NVR, plug the camera directly into the NVR's built-in PoE switch. The camera should become visible automatically after approximately 1 minute.
If using a separate PoE switch or an IPmitter (wireless bridge), manual configuration may be required. Refer to the guide at www.zipdvr.com/howto/TIP459 -How-To-Add-IP-Cameras.html for assistance.
Connection Diagram Description:
The camera features the following ports: RJ45 Socket (with a weather-proof cap supplied), 2.1mm 12V DC Socket (for power input, polarity sensitive), Audio In Phono Socket, Audio Out Phono Socket, and Alarm In/Out terminals. For PoE connection, a CAT5e/CAT6 cable up to 100m Max can be used to connect to a PoE NVR or PoE switch.
Installation
Follow these steps for camera installation:
- Step 1: Loosen the three Torx screws located on the upper housing and carefully lift off the housing. (A Torx key is supplied with the camera).
- Step 2: Position the camera base and screw it into the mounting surface using the provided screws and wall plugs.
