TOWBAR INSTALLATION:
- Fix Items B (Side Arms) to the inside face of the towing brackets using Items J (M14 x 110 Bolts & Nyloc Nuts) and Items L (14 x 27 Flat Washers).
- Insert Item D (Captive Nut Plate) inside of the towing brackets and locate above the vertical mounting points.
- Fix Items C1 (Left Hand Angle Bracket) and C2 (Right Hand Angle Bracket) to the towing brackets at the vertical mounting points using Items K (M12 x 35 Bolts & S/P Washers) and Items M (12 x 40 Flat Washers) fixing into Item D.
- Fix Item A (TLDV2 Crossmember) to Items B, C1 and C2 using Items H (M14 x 50 Bolts, 2 S/P Washers & 2 Nyloc Nuts) and Items L (14 x 27 Flat Washers).
- Note: Fit Item A to the setting that suits the vehicles body the best using Fig 1 for longer projecting bodies and Fig 2 as the standard setting, especially on tipping bodies.
- Using Items F (M16 x 40 Bolts & Nyloc Nuts) through the setting not used for the towball loosely fix Item E (Clamp Plate) to the rear of the Face Plate. (Always Follow This Before Fitting Towball)
- Using Item G (M16 x 65 Bolts & Nyloc Nuts) fix your desired ball bracket and socket plate (not supplied in this kit) to Item A.
- Fully tighten all fixings, ensuring the Towbar is rigid, Square and Secure.
Diagram Description
The diagram illustrates the assembly of the Tow-Trust TLDV2 towbar. It features an exploded view showing the main components and their connections. The central piece is the TLDV2 Crossmember (A). This connects to two Side Arms (B) via bolts (H) and washers (L). The Side Arms (B) are attached to the vehicle's towing brackets using bolts (J) and washers (L). Captive Nut Plates (D) are inserted into the towing brackets. Left and Right Hand Angle Brackets (C1, C2) are then secured to the towing brackets and captive nut plates using bolts (K) and washers (M). A Clamp Plate (E) is attached to the rear of the face plate using bolts (F). Figure 1 and Figure 2 depict alternative mounting positions for the crossmember (A) to accommodate different vehicle body styles, such as longer projecting bodies or tipping bodies.
