Assembly Overview
This document provides step-by-step instructions for assembling the EKBY ALEX shelf unit by IKEA. Please follow all instructions carefully.

Tools Required
Tools needed for assembly include: Hammer [hammer], Phillips head screwdriver [phillips screwdriver], Flat head screwdriver [flathead screwdriver].
Important Notes:
- Assemble on a soft surface (e.g., carpet) to prevent scratches. [soft surface]

Assembly Steps
Step 1: Prepare Side Panels
Attach the drawer slides (127102) to the inner faces of the two main side panels. Secure using 10x cam locks (112614) and 4x cam lock screws (110519).
Step 2: Assemble Main Frame Base
Connect the bottom panel to the side panels. Use 4x dowels (118331) and 4x cam lock screws (105021) with 4x cam locks (102509).
Step 3: Attach Internal Divider
Secure an internal panel using 4x cam lock screws (102509) and 4x cam locks (103114).
Step 4: Attach Top Panel
Connect the top panel to the side panels. Use 6x dowels (101345) and 6x cam lock screws (102509) with 6x cam locks (102509).
Step 5: Attach Drawer Slides to Main Unit
Attach the outer part of the drawer slides to the inside of the main unit. Use 5x cam lock screws (102509) and 6x cam lock screws (103114).
Step 6: Attach Back Panel
Secure the back panel to the assembled unit using 30x nails (101221).
Step 7: Assemble Drawer Boxes
Assemble the two drawer boxes. For each drawer, use 2x dowels (118331) and 2x cam lock screws (118331) with 2x cam locks (101345).
Step 8: Attach Drawer Fronts
Attach the drawer fronts to the drawer boxes. Use 4x dowels (101345) and 4x cam lock screws (118331) in total for both drawers.
Step 9: Insert Drawers
Carefully insert the assembled drawers into the main unit.
Step 10: Attach Drawer Handles
Attach the drawer handles to the drawer fronts using 4x screws (110519).
Step 11: Wall Mounting
Mount the assembled EKBY ALEX unit to the wall. Use 4x screws (105021) for secure attachment. Ensure the wall type is suitable for the screws used.
