Assembly Instructions

This document provides assembly instructions for the IKEA EKBY ALEX shelf unit.

Tools Required

The following tools are recommended for assembly:

  • Screwdriver (Phillips head) ?
  • Hammer ?

Parts List

Ensure you have all the following parts before beginning assembly:

  • 8x Screws (101221)
  • 4x Screws (118331)
  • 10x Screws (105021)
  • 4x Screws (102509)
  • 8x Screws (110853)
  • 16x Dowels (101345)
  • 10x Drawer slides (112614)
  • 4x Drawer slides (103114)
  • 1x Metal bracket (127102)

Assembly Steps

  1. Step 1: Attach drawer slides to side panels

    Attach 10 drawer slides (112614) to the side panels using screws (110853). Ensure correct orientation as shown in the diagram.

  2. Step 2: Assemble the main frame

    Connect the top and bottom panels to the side panels using screws (110519) and dowels (101345). Refer to the diagrams for precise placement.

  3. Step 3: Attach back panels

    Secure the back panels using screws (101221) and a hammer. Ensure the panels are flush with the frame.

  4. Step 4: Install drawer runners

    Attach the drawer runners to the inside of the unit using screws (102509). Ensure they are level and parallel.

  5. Step 5: Assemble drawers

    Assemble the drawer boxes using screws (118331) and dowels (101345). Slide the drawer bottoms into the grooves.

  6. Step 6: Insert drawers

    Carefully slide the assembled drawers into the unit onto the installed runners.

  7. Step 7: Attach drawer fronts

    Attach the drawer fronts to the assembled drawers using screws (103114).

  8. Step 8: Final checks

    Ensure all screws are tightened and the unit is stable. The maximum load capacity is 20 kg (44 lb).

Important Information

Warning: Do not place excessive weight on the shelf unit. Ensure the unit is securely mounted if wall-mounting is intended (wall mounting hardware not included).
