BEGA UniLink® Play RGBW Garden Floodlight

Application and System Overview

The BEGA UniLink® Play is a portable garden floodlight featuring an earth spike and a 1.7-meter connecting cable with a plug connector. It includes integrated colour light control for RGBW (Red, Green, Blue, White) additive colour mixing, easily managed via the free BEGA Smart app.

This floodlight is designed for creating effective lighting for plants, smaller trees, and other objects in private gardens.

Note: A power supply unit (Part No. 71321) must be ordered separately for connecting the floodlight.

BEGA UniLink® Play System

BEGA UniLink® Play is a smart garden lighting system controllable via a mobile app, remote control, or automation systems. All connection cables and components are designed for above-ground installation in the application area.

With an IP 67 rating, the system components are weather-resistant year-round and highly durable. Configuration is performed through the BEGA Smart app after successful electrical connection.

Product Description

The luminaire features a cast aluminium housing with BEGA Unidure® coating technology. The earth spike is made of glass fibre reinforced synthetic material in graphite colour. The reflector surface is pure aluminium, and the cover is synthetic with an optical structure.

Swivel Range: -90°/+90°

Shield: Tool-free plug-on synthetic material shield with a rotation range of -60°/+60°.

Control: Integrated colour light control for switching, dimming, and colour change (RGBW).

Configuration: Data matrix code for convenient configuration via smartphone or tablet.

Wireless Connectivity: Operates on 2.4 GHz radio frequency with a maximum output of +6 dBm, supporting Zigbee 3.0 and Bluetooth 5.0.

Status LED: Integrated status indicator.

Diagrams and Dimensions

The product documentation includes diagrams illustrating the floodlight's dimensions and installation. The main floodlight body is approximately 140mm in height with a diameter of about 50mm. It features an integrated earth spike for mounting. A 1.7-meter connecting cable with a plug and an integrated colour light control unit is shown. The luminaire offers a swivel range of -90° to +90° and the shield has a rotation range of -60° to +60°.

Zigbee: Typically up to 30 meters between devices, influenced by ambient conditions.

Bluetooth: Typically up to 12 meters, influenced by ambient conditions and the end device used (e.g., smartphone).

Please save the included Data Matrix Code labels, which are identical to the product's print. Store these labels with corresponding installation site details (e.g., room description, location) in your documentation.

Installation

Insert the luminaire with its earth spike vertically into the soil until stable. Compact the soil around the spike if necessary.

Power Supply Limit: The maximum wattage for luminaires connected to the 71321 power supply unit is 100 W.

Cable Length Limit: When the power supply unit is fully loaded, the maximum cable length between the luminaire and the power supply unit must not exceed 100 meters.

Connect the floodlight's plug to the power supply unit, Smart Link, distribution box, or extension cable. Hand-tighten the screw connection. Do not use tools for tightening or loosening screw connections.

The integrated colour light control unit in the connecting cable is positioned above ground. This positioning can affect wireless range.

Adjusting the Floodlight

To adjust the beam direction, loosen the hexagon socket screws (wrench size 2 mm), set the desired beam angle, and then tighten the screws evenly.

Maintenance and Commissioning

Maintenance

Regularly clean the luminaire with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth kept damp. Use water with a small amount of mild dishwashing detergent. For lacquered surfaces, use the BEGA Lacquer Care Set 71 179. Avoid solvent-based cleaners or high-pressure cleaners.

LED Module Replacement

The LED module designation is found on a separate label within the luminaire or on the module's underside. BEGA replacement modules match the original light colour and output. Replacement can be performed by qualified persons using standard tools. Ensure the system is de-energized before opening the luminaire. Follow the specific LED module installation instructions. Inspect and replace luminaire gaskets if necessary. Any defective synthetic diffuser must be replaced.

Commissioning

For successful configuration, the luminaire should start in its factory settings, indicated by a green flashing status LED.

If installation is incorrect or app access fails, reset the floodlight to factory settings by switching the supply voltage on and off 5 times. The reset is confirmed by five flashes of the connected luminaire.

Download and start the BEGA Smart app. Select "RGBW garden floodlight" in the app and follow the provided instructions.
