1.0 Introduction
1.1 Safety Instructions
Read all instructions before operating the device. Keep these instructions for future reference.
- Use only accessories specified or supplied by the manufacturer (such as the power adapter specifically for this device, battery, etc.).
- Before installing or operating the device, refer to the information on the product casing to obtain information on electrical supply and safety.
- To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose the device to rain or moisture.
- Do not obstruct ventilation by covering ventilation openings with items such as newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc.
- The device must not be exposed to dripping or splashing, and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, should be placed on the device.
- This symbol indicates a risk of electric shock.
- To prevent injury, this device must be securely fastened to the floor/wall according to the installation instructions.
- Risk of explosion if the battery is replaced incorrectly. When replacing, use only the same or equivalent types.
- Batteries (a single battery, several batteries, or a battery pack) must not be exposed to excessive heat, such as sunlight, fire, or the like.
- Excessive sound pressure from earphones and headphones can cause hearing loss.
- Listening to music at high volume levels for extended periods can damage hearing.
- To reduce the risk of hearing damage, lower the volume to a safe, comfortable level and limit the time you listen at high levels.
- The mains plug or the device connector is used as the disconnecting device, it should be readily operable. When the device is not in use or is being moved, secure the power cord, e.g., by tying the power cord with a cable tie or similar. It should be free of sharp edges or similar elements that could cause abrasion of the power cord set. When restarting, ensure that the power cord is not damaged. The absence of a light indication on the device does not mean it is completely disconnected from the mains. To disconnect the device completely, pull the mains plug.
- Pay attention to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
- Do not place any open flame sources, such as lit candles, on the device.
- To prevent the spread of fire, always keep candles or other open flames away from this product.
- Equipment marked with this symbol is a Class II or double-insulated electrical device. It has been designed in such a way that it does not require a safety connection to the electrical earth.
Precautions
- Never open the receiver cover. This will void the warranty. Touching the inside of the receiver is dangerous due to high voltage and possible electric shock hazards. Please entrust maintenance or servicing to qualified personnel.
- When connecting cables, ensure the receiver is disconnected from the mains power. Wait a few seconds after turning off the receiver before moving or disconnecting any equipment.
- Use only approved extension cords with compatible wires that are suitable for the power consumption of the installed equipment. Ensure that the supplied electrical energy corresponds to the voltage on the nameplate on the back of the receiver.
Working Environment
- Do not install this equipment in a confined space, such as a bookshelf or similar place.
- Do not use the set in damp and cold places, protect the set from overheating.
- Keep away from direct sunlight.
- Do not use the set in dusty places.
- Do not place candles near the opening to prevent flammable foreign materials from entering the device.

Proper disposal of this product. This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed of with other household waste throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used device, use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer from whom the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmentally safe recycling.
1.2 Storage
The receiver and its accessories are stored and delivered in packaging designed to protect against electric shock and moisture. When unpacking, please ensure that all parts are accounted for and please protect the packaging from children. For transporting the receiver from one place to another or in case of return under warranty, please ensure that the receiver is repacked in its original packaging with accessories. Failure to follow these packaging procedures may void the warranty.
1.3 Equipment Settings
Consultation with a professional installer is recommended for setting up the equipment. Otherwise, please follow the recommendations below:
- Refer to the TV's operating instructions and, where applicable, the antenna.
- Ensure that the HDMI cable and, where applicable, exposed components are in good condition.
- This manual provides complete instructions for installing and using this receiver. The following symbols are used as follows:

CAUTION: Batteries should not be recharged, disassembled, short-circuited, mixed, or used with batteries of a different type. If rechargeable batteries (e.g., NiMH) are used instead of conventional batteries, it is recommended to use low self-discharge types, which ensure a long operating time of the remote control.
1.5 USB Device Usage
- It is recommended to use USB 2.0 or better storage devices. If your device is not compatible with USB 2.0 storage device specifications, the receiver's recording, playback, and other functions may not work correctly.
- If you intend to use external USB hard drives, please note that the power may exceed the receiver's output (max. 5 V/500mA). If so, please connect the USB HDD to a suitable external power supply.
- STRONG cannot guarantee compatibility with all types of USB storage devices.
- It is recommended not to store important information on storage devices used with the receiver. Always create backups of data stored on the USB storage device before using it with this receiver. STRONG will not be liable for any loss of information or circumstances caused by such loss of information.
- STRONG cannot guarantee playback of files even if the extensions are listed, as it depends on the codec used, data transfer speed, and resolution (all MPEG codec formats are supported).
- Ensure that the USB device is already formatted to FAT/FAT32 or format the USB device via the receiver; details are available in the USB chapter of the manual available on our website www.strong.tv.
* This user manual describes the full functionality including the recording function, but may not apply if the USB recording software has not yet been installed.
2.0 Your Receiver
2.1 Default PIN CODE: 0000
You can change the PIN code in the main menu under Channel List, then Parental Lock. Save your code.
2.2 Front Panel
- LED mode indicator: RED indicates the receiver is in STAND-BY mode. GREEN indicates the receiver is in OPERATION mode.
- IR Sensor: Please point the remote control at the sensor. (Hidden)
- USB: USB device connection.
2.3 Rear Panel
- ANT IN: Antenna connection for receiving broadcast signals.
- HDMI: The HDMI input connects the receiver to the TV using a good quality HDMI cable.
- TV SCART: Connection of the receiver to the television using a cable.
- S/PDIF Coaxial: Connection of the receiver to a digital audio amplifier.
2.4 Side Panel (Left)
- DC IN: Your receiver requires a DC 12V 1A 12W wall adapter (included). The adapter's input voltage is 100~240 V AC (automatic selection), 50/60 Hz +/-5%. Check the local power specification before connecting the receiver to the mains socket.
2.5 Remote Control
- Activates the Timeshift function. Pause/play in multimedia and time-shift function.
- Turns the receiver on/switches to standby mode.
- Mutes the receiver's audio output.
- Stops playback, time-shift, recording, and multimedia.
- Starts recording the currently viewed program*. Switches between menu lists.
- INFO: Press once to display current channel information, press twice to check technical information.
- TV/R: Switches between TV and RADIO modes.
- MEDIA: Shortcut to the Multimedia menu.
- AUDIO: Displays a list of audio tracks for the current channel.
- BLUE: Shortcut to the timer list.
- EPG: Viewing mode: Displays EPG (Electronic Program Guide). Menu off: Changes channel to next/previous.
- BACK: Menu off: Changes channel to next/previous. Menu on: Navigates the Menu.
- Volume control: Menu off: Decreases/increases volume level. Menu on: Navigates the Menu.
- OK: Menu off: Menu on: Confirms actions in the Menu.
2.6 Battery Installation
Remove the remote control cover and insert 2xAAA batteries into the internal compartment. The diagram inside the compartment shows the correct way to install the batteries.

2.7 Using the Remote Control
To use the remote control, point it towards the front of the receiver. The remote control supports a range of up to 5 meters from the receiver at an angle of approximately 30 degrees.
CAUTION: Receiver operation will be limited or impossible if there are obstacles between the remote control sensor (on the front panel of the receiver) and the remote control. Direct sunlight or very bright light may limit or interfere with the reception of remote control signals.
3.0 Connection
3.1 Connecting to the Terrestrial Antenna
To receive broadcast signals, your indoor or outdoor terrestrial antenna must be connected to the ANT IN connector on the back of the receiver. Use a properly shielded antenna cable and appropriate connectors.
3.2 Connecting to TV via HDMI Cable
The TV should be connected to the receiver using a good quality HDMI 1.3 cable. This connection provides the highest possible picture quality.
3.3 Connecting to TV via SCART Cable
Your receiver is also equipped with a SCART connector; alternatively, the TV can be connected to the receiver using a good quality SCART cable.
3.4 Connecting a Digital S/PDIF Audio Amplifier
By connecting the receiver to a digital amplifier or home theater system, you can enjoy the best possible sound quality and multi-channel sound (depending on the broadcast) up to Dolby Digital. Connect one end of a good quality digital audio coaxial cable to the receiver's SPDIF output, and the other end to the home theater system's coaxial audio input, amplifier, or other digital audio device.
3.5 Connecting to a Digital Audio Amplifier and TV via HDMI Cable
After connecting the receiver to the HDMI port of a digital amplifier or home theater system, you will enjoy the best possible sound quality and multi-channel sound (depending on the broadcast). Connect the HDMI output of the device to the amplifier's input, and then connect the amplifier's HDMI output to the TV. Select the appropriate amplifier input to watch and listen to programs.
3.6 Connecting a USB Mass Storage Device
CAUTION: It is recommended to use a USB 2.0 or better hard disk drive for recording and playback of TV events.
Timeshift/recording and playback work correctly only if a fast USB mass storage device such as a USB 2.0 HDD is connected to the receiver. Timeshift/recording and playback of HD content requires sufficient read/write speed from the used USB mass storage device.
4.0 First Time Startup
If you are using the receiver for the first time, the Installation Guide menu will appear. Use ▲/▼ to move the highlight to the setting you want to change and use ◄/► to change the values. Start by selecting the display language (OSD) using ◄/►. After selecting the language, press the button to move the highlight to Country. Select your country using ◄/►. Press OK to continue.
5.0 QUICK GUIDE TO USING THE RECEIVER
At STRONG, we understand that you can't wait to enjoy your new digital terrestrial receiver. This short guide will familiarize you with the basic operation of the device. However, we recommend reading the entire manual for optimal receiver performance.
To turn on the receiver or switch to standby mode, use the O button on the remote control.
You can select the desired channels using the ▲/▼ buttons, or enter the channel number using the 0-9 buttons on the remote. Alternatively, you can press OK in browsing mode to display the channel list.
Volume can be adjusted using the +/- buttons.
6.0 Operation
Your new receiver is equipped with several features that make watching TV a real pleasure. This section describes these features. Please also read section 7.0 to familiarize yourself with the receiver's menu.
6.1 Changing Channels
Your new receiver is equipped with three ways to change channels.
- Direct access using the 0-9 buttons.
- Via the channel list using the OK button.
- Using the ◄/► buttons.
- Using the Page Up/Page Down keys to navigate the channel list.
6.1.1 Direct Access via 0-9 Buttons
To directly access a specific channel, simply enter its number using the 0-9 buttons on the remote. Channel numbers can contain up to four digits. It is possible to enter a number with fewer than four digits. Please wait a few seconds and the receiver will switch to the selected channels, or press OK immediately after selecting the channel number.
6.1.2 Channel List
Press OK in preview mode to display the channel list. Use ▲/▼ to highlight the desired channel and press OK to select the highlighted channel.
TIP: Use TV/R to switch between TV List and Radio List without the channel list on the screen.
Use the COLORED BUTTONS for options such as faster channel search, if the list is very long, using the pop-up keyboard: GREEN for the first digit, BLUE for the first digit, RED for the type, or change the channel list order using the YELLOW button. Sorting can be done alphabetically (A to Z, Z to A), first by unscrambled or scrambled channels, first by locked or unlocked channels. Select Default to return to the original list before making changes to the channel order. Press OK to confirm.
6.1.3 Using the ◄/► Buttons
- ◄ switches to the previous channel.
- ► switches to the next channel.
If the channel list is on the screen:
- ◄◄ jumps 10 channels back.
- ►► jumps 10 channels forward.
6.2 Information Banner
While watching TV, you can press the INFO button at any time to get information about the current channel and event*. Press INFO twice to get program information and again for detailed technical information about the current channel.
* Event information will be displayed if it is available. Availability depends on the broadcast.
6.3 Audio Language Selection
Some channels support the selection of DVB audio formats and/or languages. To select a different audio stream, press AUDIO in browsing mode. A list of available audio streams will be displayed. Use ▲/▼ to select the desired stream. Press EXIT when finished.
6.4 Teletext
Your receiver includes a fully functional teletext. To access teletext, press the TEXT button in browsing mode and use the 0-9 buttons to enter the page number you want to display. The colored buttons on the remote control allow immediate access to selected pages, as indicated at the bottom of the teletext screen. Use the ▲/▼ buttons to select one page up or down, use the ◄/► buttons to select subpages, if indicated at the bottom of the screen. Press EXIT or TEXT to return to viewing mode.
CAUTION: Teletext data availability depends on the broadcast.
6.5 Subtitles
Some programs support the selection of different DVB subtitle languages. Press the SUBTITLE button in browsing mode to display a list of available subtitle languages. Use ▲/▼ to select the subtitle language and confirm with the OK button. Press EXIT to exit without making changes.
CAUTION: Availability of audio tracks, teletext data, and subtitles depends on the broadcast.
6.6 Timeshift
Timeshift allows you to pause live transmission and resume playback later. Press II/TIMESHIFT in viewing mode to activate this mode. A program banner will appear and the image will freeze. Press II/TIMESHIFT to resume playback after timeshift. A time banner will be displayed, indicating the time shift relative to the live TV broadcast. Use ◄◄/►► to fast forward or rewind. Press ► to return to the live TV broadcast.
CAUTION: For timeshift to work correctly, a USB mass storage device with sufficient free space and sufficient speed must be connected.
6.7 EPG (Electronic Program Guide)
The Electronic Program Guide is a very useful feature that allows you to browse event schedules and information, and to mark programs for recording. To access the EPG, press the EPG button in browsing mode. Use ▲/▼ to select the desired channel and ◄/► to select the desired event. Use the ◄/► buttons to quickly scroll through the list of channels or events to easily move to the next day. Press the GREEN button to save the selected event in reminders. Press the RED button to schedule the desired event for recording. Manual override is possible. Ensure you have a connected HDD to record. Use EXIT to leave the EPG screen. In normal browsing mode, use the BLUE button to go to the manual timer list screen to make changes to the schedule. There, use the BLUE and RED buttons and OK to manually add, delete, and edit entries.
CAUTION: An event can only be recorded if the appropriate USB device is connected.
6.8 Instant Recording
Your new receiver allows you to instantly record the program you are watching. Simply press REC to start recording.
During recording, a recording indicator will be displayed in the top right corner of the TV screen. To stop recording, press ■. Select Yes to confirm, and then press the OK button again to stop recording.
* Connect a USB mass storage device with sufficient free space before starting recording.
You can also quickly access recordings by pressing the USB button in normal viewing mode.
7.0 Main Menu
The main menu provides access to settings and multimedia functions. To access the main menu, press the MENU button in viewing mode. The main menu consists of the following submenus: Channel List, Installation, Language, AV Settings, Local Time Settings, System, and Multimedia. Throughout the main menu, you can use the MENU button to return to the previous screen. Use ▲/▼/◄/► to select or change settings. Use the buttons suggested at the bottom of the screen for some functions. For some items, a password is required if Parental Lock is set in the Channel List menu.
7.1 Channel List
TV Channel List and Radio Channel List
Procedures are the same for TV Channel List and Radio Channel List.
Sorting Channels
To change the order of channels in the list, use the BLUE button. Sorting can be done alphabetically (A to Z, Z to A), first by unscrambled or scrambled channels, first by locked or unlocked channels. Select Default to return to the original list before making changes to the channel order.
Moving Channels
Use ▲/▼ to select the channel and press OK. Select LCN Modify to move it. Enter the new position where you want the channel to be using the 0-9 buttons. After confirming with OK and exiting the menu, the channel will be set to its new position.
Blocking Channels
To block a channel, you need a password to access the blocking function. Blocked channels can only be viewed after entering the password.
Press ▲/▼ to select the channel and press the GREEN button to block or unblock it. You will be prompted to enter the PIN code. Blocked channels will be marked with a ■ symbol.
It is possible to block/unblock multiple channels in one session. After making all changes, press EXIT. A Saving banner will appear.
Deleting
Use ▲/▼ to highlight the channel and press 1 to select it for deletion. You can select more than one channel. After selecting the channel(s) you want to delete, press EXIT, a confirmation banner will appear. Select Yes to delete the selected channel or No to cancel.
CAUTION: Deleted channels can only be recovered by performing a new Channel Search from the Installation menu.
Adding Channels to Favorites List
Channels from the program can be added to 8 different favorite groups. Use ▲/▼ to select the channel you want to add to a favorite group. When the highlight is on the selected channel, press FAV. The favorites list can be selected from a pop-up list. Use ▲/▼ to select the favorites list to which you want to add the channel and press OK. Press EXIT twice and confirm to complete the process. Favorite channels will be marked with a heart symbol.
To unselect a channel from the favorites list, repeat the above procedure and select it again using the OK button on the pop-up Favorites channel list where it was saved.
Renaming
Use ▲/▼ to select the channel whose name you want to change. Then press the 2 button. A pop-up keyboard will appear on the screen. Use ◄/► to select characters/functions and enter them using OK. After finishing editing, select OK to apply the changes. After making all changes, press EXIT and confirm.
Delete All
All channels can be selected for deletion using the YELLOW button. Channels will be marked with an X symbol before confirmation by pressing the EXIT button. Deleted channels can only be recovered by performing a new channel scan in the Channel Search menu.
CAUTION: Deleted channels can only be recovered by performing a new Channel Search from the Installation menu.
7.2 Options
Parental Lock
Programs with parental supervision ratings can be blocked by password before browsing and opening. To configure this function, first enter the password. Then select the age above which the channel must be protected. Options are: Off, Age 7 to 18 years. The default value is Age 18.
Menu Lock
If Menu Lock is set to On, key menu items are password protected.
Channel Lock
If Channel Lock is set to Off, the lock function set in the TV or Radio Channel List will be overridden.
7.3 Installation
New PIN Code
To set a different PIN (password) than the previous one, first enter the new 4-digit password and confirm it by entering it again in Confirm PIN Code. Save it.
LCN
Logical channel numbering. This setting, On or Off, depends on the Country or Region you have selected. The broadcaster may send a signal to set the program on a specific channel number.
Automatic Scan
This menu allows you to automatically scan for channels from all available frequencies for your selected region. Please note that all previously installed channels and favorites lists will be deleted. Newly found channels will be installed on the channel list, and you can then create a new favorites list if you wish. Press OK to start scanning.
Manual Scan
Select a specific channel to scan only on one (known) frequency. Select Start Scan and press OK to start scanning. The signal quality bar may be useful for checking if the frequency is actually in use or for aiming the antenna.
Antenna Power
Set to On if you are using an active antenna. If set to On, 5 V voltage will be present on the ANT IN connector of the receiver. Select Off for passive antennas.
FTA
FTA Free to Air, select between Yes, when only unscrambled channels are installed, or No, when all found channels are installed, even if they are scrambled. Then select Automatic Scan or Manual Scan to start scanning.
7.4 Language
This menu allows you to configure your language preferences.
- Language: Use ◄/► to select the display language on the screen (OSD).
- First Audio: Use ◄/► to select the audio language you want to hear as priority, if available.
- Second Audio: Use ◄/► to select the language that will be played if the language selected in First Audio is not available.
- Subtitle Language: Use ◄/► to select your preferred subtitle language.
- Teletext Language: Changes the character set depending on the country selected.
- Subtitle Type: Select the type of subtitles you want to be displayed automatically on each channel. Options are: Off, {Hearing Impaired and Normal.
CAUTION: Availability of audio tracks, teletext data, and subtitles depends on the broadcast.
7.5 AV Settings
Use this menu to adjust the receiver to your TV. The following settings are available:
7.6 Local Time Settings
- Region: Select the region or country where you live. This will determine, for example, the time zone, character set, or LCN usage.
- GMT Usage: The current time obtained from the broadcast will be displayed here if it is set to According to region (Default). If set to Off, you can set the time and date as you wish. If in rare cases the broadcaster does not send a signal for the change to summer time, you can change the time by +1 hour if GMT Usage is set to User Defined.
7.7 System
Configuration of some system functions for maintenance, network, and protection.
- System Information: This submenu displays information about the receiver, such as hardware and software version. Please have the System Information screen ready if you call our helpline. The person who answers your call may ask for the information displayed on this screen.
- Factory Settings: Resets the receiver to factory default settings. This is sometimes useful when the device suddenly behaves unexpectedly, e.g., after a power failure. Select System, then Factory Settings. Enter your password. Confirm by selecting Yes. Note: This option will delete all your channels, favorite lists, and settings. The receiver will restart and start from the initial Installation menu.
- Timer List: View the list of set timers and edit it if necessary using the BLUE and RED buttons and OK to add, delete, or edit an entry manually. The Timer List can be quickly accessed (shortcut) by pressing the BLUE button in normal viewing mode.
- OSD Settings: Adjust the display (OSD) settings to your preferences.
- OSD Timeout: Sets the time in seconds for which the program banner will be displayed.
- OSD Transparency: Sets the level of transparency compared to the video content being played.
- Switching Mode: Options are: Black screen and Video Freeze. Sets the image during channel switching. You can display a black screen or keep the last video frame until the next channel opens.
- USB Update Apply All: This function allows you to update the receiver's software via the USB port. When new software is available for the receiver, you can download it from our website. Place the software file (unzipped) in the root directory of the USB mass storage device (hard drive, USB stick, etc.) and connect the device to the receiver's USB port. You will first see a message that a USB device has been found. Then, go to the System menu and select the USB Update option. In Update Mode, select Apply All, then select the correct file. Select Start and press OK to begin the update.
CAUTION: Never interrupt the software update. Do not unplug the USB device. Do not unplug the power cord from the socket or turn off the receiver.
7.8 Multimedia
This section allows you to play various types of files from a connected USB mass storage device. Select Music and press OK to play MP3 files from your folders. Select Pictures and press OK to display your favorite JPG photos. Select Movies and press OK to enter, for playback of various video formats. Select Recording Manager and press OK to see a list of recordings you have made. The device supports USB HDD drives in FAT32 format. However, you can also use an NTFS formatted hard drive from your PC. Ensure the USB device is properly formatted. Use the on-screen prompts and multimedia buttons such as ◄◄, ►►, ■, and II on the remote to work with the multimedia player. Use the COLORED BUTTONS with the shown function to manage the multimedia player. The MEDIA button on the remote is a shortcut to the Multimedia menu.
Settings: Set your preferences for photo browsing. Press the BLUE button to see the options.
8.0 Troubleshooting
There are various reasons for the receiver's abnormal operation. Please check the receiver according to the procedures below. If the receiver does not operate properly after checking, please contact your dealer or local helpline. Please DO NOT open or disassemble the receiver. This could lead to a dangerous situation and void the warranty.
