This document provides instructions for the STRONG SRT 8215 Digital Terrestrial HD Receiver.

Introduction

Welcome to your new Digital Terrestrial HD Receiver. This manual guides you through installation, setup, and operation.

Installation Languages Available: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, Polish, Czech, Croatian, Hungarian, Greek, Dutch.

Key Features: USB Recording, EPG (Electronic Program Guide), Teletext, Parental Control, RSS Feeds, DVB-T2 High Definition, HDMI, Dolby Audio.

Your Receiver

Front Panel: Features an infrared sensor for the remote control, an LED display showing channel numbers or standby time, a Mode Indicator LED (green indicates power on), a Standby/ON button, and a USB port.

Back Panel: Includes ANT IN for antenna connection, ETHERNET port for network access, HDMI output, AUDIO L/R outputs, TV SCART output, and a 12V power input.

Remote Control: Equipped with a numeric keypad (0-9), Power, Mute, FAV (Favorites), OK, MENU, INFO, EPG buttons, navigation arrows (▲▼◄►), and colored function buttons (Red, Green, Yellow, Blue).

Connections

Antenna Connection: Connect your terrestrial antenna to the ANT IN connector using a coaxial cable. Ensure the cable is properly shielded.

TV Connection (HDMI): For the highest quality audio and video, connect the receiver to your TV using an HDMI cable.

TV Connection (SCART): Alternatively, connect the receiver to your TV using a SCART cable.

USB Device Connection: Connect USB storage devices (like flash drives or external HDDs) to the USB port. The port supports 5V/500mA maximum.

Network Connection: Connect to your router using an Ethernet cable (RJ-45) for RSS feeds and weather information.

Power Connection: Connect the receiver to the mains power supply using the provided adapter.

Audio System Connection: For enhanced audio, connect the receiver's HDMI output to an HDMI-compatible amplifier or home cinema system.

First Start-up

Upon first power-on, a Welcome screen appears. You will need to select your Region and Language. If using an active antenna, ensure Antenna Power is enabled. Use the navigation buttons to select options and press OK to confirm. The receiver will then search for available channels. If no channels are found, recheck antenna connections and signal strength.

Note: If the Welcome screen does not appear, you can reset to factory settings via MENU > System Setup > Tools > Factory Setting (PIN: 0000).

Operation

Channel Selection

You can change channels using:

  • Direct input via the numeric keypad (0-9).
  • The channel list (press OK to display, use ▲▼ to navigate, OK to select).
  • The channel up/down buttons (p/q).

Information Panel

Press INFO to view current channel and event information. Press INFO twice for technical details and signal quality.

Audio Language Selection

Some channels offer multiple audio tracks. Press AUDIO to select your preferred language.

Teletext

Press TEXT to access Teletext. Use 0-9 for page numbers and ▲▼/t u for sub-pages.

Subtitles

Press SUB to access subtitle options if available for the current channel.

EPG (Electronic Program Guide)

Press EPG to view the program guide. Use ▲▼ to select channels and t u to select events. Press OK for details.

Recording and Time Shift

Connect a USB storage device to use recording and Time Shift functions. Ensure the USB device is formatted to FAT32. Press 4 to start instant recording, 3 to stop. Press II to pause/resume Time Shift.

Main Menu

Access the Main Menu by pressing MENU. From here, you can access Installation, Channels, System Setup, Multimedia, and Network settings.

Channel Installation

Manual Scan: Allows tuning channels by frequency or channel number.

Automatic Scan: Scans all available frequencies for channels. Note that this will erase existing channels and favorites. You can select T2 Signal Only to scan for DVB-T2 signals.

Country: Select your region for correct channel numbering (LCN). Options include England, Hungary, Poland, Denmark, Italy, France. Selecting 'Other' allows manual sorting.

Antenna Power: Enable this option (On) if using an active antenna with a built-in amplifier.

Scan Mode: Choose 'Free' for free-to-air channels only, or 'All' for both free and encrypted channels.

Channel Editing

Manage your channels, create favorite lists, move channels, lock channels with a PIN, and delete channels.

System Setup

Language: Set OSD (On-Screen Display) language, primary audio language, and secondary audio language.

TV System: Configure video resolution (e.g., 480i to 1080p) and aspect ratio (4:3, 16:9, Auto).

HDMI/Digital Audio Output: Select PCM for stereo or RAW for Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital Plus passthrough.

Display Settings: Adjust brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, and sharpness.

Time Settings: Configure time zone and daylight saving.

Timers Setting: Set up to 8 wake-up events for recording or channel switching.

Parental Control: Lock channels based on age ratings using a PIN code.

OSD Settings: Adjust OSD timeout and transparency.

Audio Description: Enable audio commentary for visually impaired users.

Other: Configure Channel Play Type, Beeper, Auto Standby, and Time.

Media Player

Play video, music, and view images from a connected USB device. Supports various formats including MPEG, FLV, TS, MP3, FLAC, OGG, BMP, JPG. Use colored buttons for playback controls (Audio, Subtitle, etc.).

Storage Device Setup

View USB device information, format the device, or safely remove it.

Tools

Information: View hardware and software version details.

Factory Setting: Reset the receiver to its original factory defaults. This will erase all channels and settings.

Upgrade By USB: Update the receiver's software using a USB drive.

Network Setting: Configure network IP settings (DHCP or manual).

RSS Feed: Select and read news feeds.

Weather: View weather information for your region.

Troubleshooting

No Power/Display: Check power adapter connection and 12V plug.

No Signal: Ensure antenna is connected, aligned correctly, and not obstructed. Check antenna power if applicable.

No Picture/Sound: Select correct TV input (HDMI/SCART). Ensure TV/amplifier is on. Check signal type (S/PDIF).

Scrambled Channel: Select an alternative channel.

Remote Control Not Working: Ensure receiver is powered on, remote is pointed correctly, no obstructions, and batteries are fresh.

Forgotten PIN: The default PIN is 0000. Contact support if needed.

Signal Issues After Moving: Check signal strength using INFO button, reposition antenna, or try an outdoor antenna. Ensure antenna power is on.

Receiver Auto-Turns Off: Disable the automatic standby function.

Video Freezing/Macroblocking: Ensure USB device speed is sufficient and it's formatted to FAT32.
