Bestway Inflatable Kayak Owner's Manual
Models: 65077/65115, 65131/65132/65142
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Follow all Safety and Operating Instructions. Failure to do so may cause overturn, explosion of the boat, and drowning.
- Before each use, inspect all boat components (air-chambers, grab ropes, oars, air valves) for good condition and secure attachment. Repair any damage before use.
- Do not exceed passenger numbers and load weights specified in the Technical Specifications. Overweight can cause overturn and drowning.
- Inflate according to numbered air chambers and rated pressure. Overinflation can cause explosion. Exceeding capacity plate data may damage the craft, cause overturn, and lead to drowning.
- Keep the boat balanced. Uneven distribution of persons or load can cause overturn and drowning.
- Be aware of offshore winds and currents.
- Do not leave the boat exposed to sun for long periods, as high temperatures can increase air expansion, causing irreparable damage.
- Never transport the boat in an inflated condition on a car. Be aware of potential harmful effects of liquids like battery acid, oil, and petrol, which can damage your boat.
TECHNICAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Do not exceed the maximum recommended number of people. The total weight of people and equipment must not exceed the maximum recommended load. Always use provided seats.
- When loading, do not exceed the maximum recommended load. Load carefully and distribute loads to maintain trim (approximately level). Avoid placing heavy weights high up.
- The maximum recommended load includes all people, provisions, personal effects, equipment not included in the light craft mass, cargo, and consumable liquids.
- Always use life-saving devices like life jackets and buoys. Pre-inspect and use them at all times.
- Buckets, water scoops, and air pumps should be available for air leakage or if the boat takes on water.
- While the boat is in motion, all passengers must remain seated to avoid falling overboard.
- Use the boat in protected shore-zones, up to 300m (984 feet). Be cautious of natural factors like wind, tidewaters, and tidal waves.
- Be careful when landing on the shore. Sharp and rough objects (rocks, cement, shells, glass) may puncture the boat.
- If one chamber is punctured while in the water, fully inflate the other air chamber to prevent sinking.
- Do not drag the boat on rough surfaces to avoid damage.
- Always wear a lifejacket!
- It is the owner/operator's responsibility to have at least one bucket/bailer on board, secured against accidental loss.
- Be responsible and do not neglect safety rules, as this could jeopardize your life and the lives of others.
- Follow these instructions to avoid drowning, paralysis, or other serious injuries.
- Know how to operate a boat. Check local information and/or training as needed. Inform yourself about local regulations and dangers related to boating and other water activities.
- Drawings are for illustration purposes only and may not reflect the actual product. They are not to scale.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
INFLATE & ASSEMBLE
NEVER USE HIGH PRESSURE AIR TO INFLATE INFLATABLES. THIS CAN DAMAGE YOUR PRODUCT.
- Inflate until slight folding is visible at the welding seams. Compare the height of the printed scale on the product with the table below to ensure each chamber's height is reached. Inflate the bottom chamber and accessories (e.g., footrest cushion) until stiff to the touch, but NOT hard. DO NOT OVER INFLATE.
- Ensure the boat reaches the correct pressure. Pay attention to both pressure scales on the type-plate and check pressure periodically, as sun exposure can increase pressure, requiring re-balancing.
- Extended sun exposure can shorten the boat's lifespan. It is suggested not to leave boats in direct sunlight for more than 1 hour after use.
SAFETY ROPE INSTALLATION
- Safety ropes should be fitted to both the bow and stern areas only and must not impede the normal operation of the craft.
- Carefully check that the safety rope is tightened well.
SEATS ASSEMBLY
- After the craft is inflated, connect the seat belts (if included) to the side buckles on the craft.
- Seat locations can be adjusted along the center of the craft floor.
STORAGE
- Remove oars from oarlocks. Take down seats.
- Clean the boat carefully using mild soap and clean water. Do not use acetone, acid, and/or alkaline solutions.
- Use a cloth to gently dry all surfaces. The product can be dried under direct sunlight for no more than 1 hour; extended sun exposure can shorten the boat's lifespan.
REPAIR
- For small punctures, repair according to the instructions on the repair patch.
- If the hole is too large for the provided patch, purchase a Bestway repair kit or send the boat to a specialty shop for repair.
PLEASE KEEP THIS MANUAL IN A SECURE PLACE, AND HAND IT OVER TO THE NEW OWNER WHEN YOU SELL THE CRAFT.
