Product Overview

The ZipStor is a HDD (Hard Disk Drive) expander unit making it easy to add additional hard disc capacity to your Zip NVR or DVR. The enclosure is designed to match the Zip NVR / DVR; it can be situated either on top or below it for a fully integrated look. An eSATA cable (supplied) is used to link the two devices.

Connections

[Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates the connections. On the left is the 'ZipStor eSATA Drive' unit, showing an eSATA port. An 'eSATA Cable' connects this port to the eSATA port on the 'DVR or NVR' unit. The DVR/NVR unit shows various input/output ports including HDMI, LAN, VGA, and multiple video/audio inputs. Both the ZipStor and the DVR/NVR units are shown with a '12V DC Power' connection.]

The ZipStor eSATA Drive connects to the DVR or NVR using the supplied eSATA cable. Both devices require a 12V DC power supply.

DVR / NVR Setup

Follow these steps to enable the eSATA drive on your DVR or NVR:

  1. In the recorder menu, navigate to Storage > Disk > Disk > Record on eSATA and select Enable.

[Screenshot Description: A menu interface showing navigation path 'Storage > Disk > Disk'. A sub-menu displays options like 'Auto', 'SATA', 'Disable', 'Enable' for 'Record on eSATA'. 'Enable' is selected.]
