Casio Watch Module 2182, 2189, 2289 User Manual
Model Numbers: 2182, 2189, 2289 | Model Name: LW-24
Important Information
To ensure safe and proper use of your Casio watch, please read this manual carefully before use.
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures.
- While designed for active daily use, handle the watch with care and avoid dropping it.
- Do not fasten the watch strap too tightly. You should be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the strap.
- To clean the watch and strap, use a dry, soft cloth. Alternatively, use a soft cloth dampened with a mild, neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile agents such as gasoline, solvents, or spray cleaners.
- When not using the watch, store it in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions with these substances can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
- Some models feature designs on the strap printed using silk-screening. Clean these straps with caution to avoid damaging the designs.
Battery
The battery installed in the watch at the factory is for testing purposes and may discharge during shipping and storage. If you notice dimness in the display, it is time to replace the battery. Contact a CASIO authorized service center or distributor for replacement.
Water Resistance
Watches are classified by water resistance level (from I to V). Check your watch's classification to determine its suitability for various activities.
Level | Case Marking | Splash, Rain, Washing | Swimming, Snorkeling | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|
I | (No Marking) | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- II WR (Water Resistant) means waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
- Watches with 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance can withstand water pressure of the indicated level and can be used while showering and for brief swimming. They are not suitable for diving.
- Watches with 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance can be used during regular swimming and snorkeling. They are not suitable for scuba diving.
- Watches with 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Important:
- Never press buttons underwater.
- Never set hands underwater.
- Never unscrew the crown underwater.
- If the watch is exposed to saltwater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it.
- Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Care for Your Watch
Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
The rubber gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
If moisture enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest dealer or CASIO distributor.
For Watches with Plastic Straps
You may notice a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is harmless and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth.
Exposure to sweat or moisture, or storage in high humidity conditions, can damage, tear, or crack the plastic strap. To ensure a long service life for the plastic strap, wipe it clean with a soft cloth whenever possible.
For Watches with Fluorescent Cases and Straps
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible.
Prolonged contact with any other wet surface can cause discoloration of the fluorescent color. Ensure the fluorescent surface is dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.
Significant friction of a fluorescent-painted surface against another surface can cause the fluorescent paint to transfer to that surface.
Condensation on the Glass
Slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass due to sharp temperature changes. This is a normal physical phenomenon and not a defect.
