Casio LW-22 / LW-100 Watch User Manual
Module No. 1602, 1665
User Manual
This manual provides instructions for operating the Casio LW-100 and LW-22 watches, which use Module No. 1602 and 1665 respectively. All operations for both modules are identical. The illustrations in this manual are based on Module 1602.
Battery
The battery installed at the factory may be discharged during storage and shipping. If the battery shows signs of depletion (e.g., dim indicator), replace the battery at your CASIO dealer or distributor.
Water Resistance
Watches are classified by water resistance rating (from I to V) according to their protection against water. Please refer to the table below for proper usage.
Rating | Marking on Case | Splashes, Rain | Swimming, Washing Car | Diving, Snorkeling | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
II | 50M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
III | 100M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
IV | 200M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 300M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Rating I watches are not waterproof; avoid getting any moisture on them.
- Do not press buttons underwater.
- Buttons can be pressed underwater, but do not press recessed buttons. If seawater gets on the watch, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it.
- May be used for diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen gas mixture).
Some water-resistant watches come with leather bands. Do not wear such models while swimming or in any other situation where the band may be immersed in water.
You may notice a whitish powder on the band. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be removed by wiping the band with a cloth.
If moisture is left on a resin band or if such watches are kept in a high-humidity environment, the band may warp, crack, or break. To preserve the resin band, wipe off dirt or moisture with a soft cloth as soon as possible.
For watches with fluorescent bands and cases:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fluorescence to fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause fluorescence to fade. Wipe moisture from the surface as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with other damp surfaces can cause fluorescence to fade. Wipe moisture from the fluorescent surface as soon as possible and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction between the fluorescent printed surface and another surface can cause the printed color to transfer to the other surface.
Precautions for Watch Usage
- Do not attempt to open the case or remove the back cover.
- The water-proof packing must be replaced every 2 to 3 years.
- If water or condensation gets inside the watch, have it inspected or repaired immediately by your CASIO dealer or distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to excessively high temperatures.
- Although the watch is shock-resistant, avoid subjecting it to strong impacts or dropping it onto hard surfaces.
- Do not wear the band too tightly. A finger should fit comfortably under the band.
- Use a soft cloth to clean the watch and band. A dry cloth or one lightly dampened with a mild soap solution is recommended. Do not use volatile chemicals such as benzine, thinner, or spray cleaners.
- Always store the watch in a dry place when not in use.
- Do not expose the watch to aggressive chemicals such as benzine, cleaning agents, or aerosols. Chemical reactions with such agents can damage the packing, case, and finish.
- Some watch bands have specifications printed on them. Clean such bands carefully to avoid rubbing off the printing.
- For watches with resin bands:
- You may notice a whitish powder on the band. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be removed by wiping the band with a cloth.
- If moisture is left on a resin band or if such watches are kept in a high-humidity environment, the band may warp, crack, or break. To preserve the resin band, wipe off dirt or moisture with a soft cloth as soon as possible.
- For watches with fluorescent bands and cases:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fluorescence to fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause fluorescence to fade. Wipe moisture from the surface as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with other damp surfaces can cause fluorescence to fade. Wipe moisture from the fluorescent surface as soon as possible and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction between the fluorescent printed surface and another surface can cause the printed color to transfer to the other surface.
