Pressure Specifications
The mixer tap is designed for different water pressure systems. Ensure you use the correct aerator/flow guide:
- Low Pressure System (0.2 - 5 bar / 0.02 - 0.5 MPa / 2.9 - 72.5 psi): Use aerator/flow guide Part No. 10004080 (Pre-fitted).
- High Pressure System (0.1 - 10 bar / 0.01 - 1 MPa / 1.5 - 145 psi): Use aerator/flow guide Part No. 139269.
A second set of specifications is provided for different pressure ranges:
- Low Pressure System (0.5 - 5 bar / 0.05 - 0.5 MPa / 7.2 - 72.5 psi): Use aerator/flow guide Part No. 139268.
- High Pressure System (0.2 - 10 bar / 0.02 - 1 MPa / 2.9 - 145 psi): Use aerator/flow guide Part No. 139269.
A world map indicates that these specifications are relevant globally, with a focus on the UK for regulatory compliance.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Connect Hoses
Connect the flexible hoses (G1/2) to the mixer tap body.
Diagram Description: Detailed illustration of the mixer tap with flexible hoses attached. Shows the parts for mounting the tap to the sink or worktop, including a triangular base plate, washers, and a threaded rod with nuts. Indicates the tap spout can swivel 360° and the handle can rotate 120°.
Step 2: Seal Worktop
Seal the open surfaces with silicone to prevent water from penetrating the worktop upon any leaks. Silicone is not included.
Diagram Description: Illustration showing sealant being applied around the base of the tap where it meets the worktop.
Step 3: Mount Mixer Tap
Mount the mixer tap through the worktop. The required hole diameter is 34-37 mm (1 3/8 - 1 1/2 inches). The maximum worktop thickness is 65 mm (2 9/16 inches).
Diagram Description: Two diagrams illustrating the mounting process. The tap is inserted through a hole in the worktop. From underneath, the mounting bracket, washers, and nuts are used to secure the tap. The diagram shows the correct orientation and tightening of the components.
Step 4: Check Movement Range
The tap spout can swivel 360 degrees. The handle can rotate 120 degrees.
Diagram Description: Diagrams showing the full range of motion for the tap spout (360° swivel) and the tap handle (120° rotation).
Step 5: Connect to Water Supply
Connect the flexible hoses to the water supply pipes.
IMPORTANT! Do not tighten too hard: this can damage hoses/pipes and washers.
Diagram Description: Illustration showing the connection of flexible hoses to water supply pipes. Includes examples of correct tightening and incorrect methods (over-tightening, cross marks indicating wrong connections).
Compliance and Maintenance
UK Water Regulations: To comply with UK water regulations, this product shall be installed in accordance with the following:
- Inlet supply hoses shall be installed where light is excluded.
- Water supplies shall be at reasonably balanced pressures from a common source (e.g., hot and cold supplies both from the same storage or both from a supply pipe).
- Where the fitting is supplied from unbalanced supplies (e.g., hot and cold supplies from separate sources), an 'Approved' single check valve or some other no less effective backflow prevention device shall be fitted immediately upstream of both hot and cold water inlets.
Maintenance: Check at regular intervals to make sure that the installation is not leaking.
Final Checks and Usage
Before use: Unscrew the Aerator/Flow Guide with a coin and allow the water to run freely for a few minutes. Then screw the Aerator/Flow Guide back in place up to the stop. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
Diagram Description: Illustrations showing how to remove and re-attach the aerator/flow guide using a coin. Also shows the aerator/flow guide parts (10004080, 139269, 139268) for different pressure types.
