Minelab EQUINOX 600/800 Quick Start Guide
This guide provides essential steps to set up and begin using your Minelab EQUINOX series metal detector.
Getting Started: 4 Easy Steps

Turn On the Device
Press the [power button] on the side of the interface to turn the device on.

Select Detector Mode
Choose the ideal Detector Mode and Search Profile for your environment. (EQUINOX 800 shown).
Detector Modes:
- Park: Great for high-trash recreational areas, including most detection sites.
- Country: Ideal for detecting the widest range of target sizes in historical areas.
- Beach: Optimized for all wet and dry conditions, including wet sand, surf, and underwater.
- Gold: Best suited for gold nugget prospecting in mineralized ground.

Noise Cancel
Select Noise Cancel from the Settings Menu and press the [OK button] to engage automatic Noise Cancel. This takes approximately 8 seconds.

Start Searching!
Press the [OK button] to return to the detection screen and begin detecting.
Assembly Instructions

Attach Coil to Lower Shaft
Insert two plastic washers into the holes on each side of the armrest. Place the armrest onto the coil's mounting point. Ensure the spring-loaded pin on the lower shaft is facing downwards. Pass the plastic bolt through the armrest and mounting point. Tighten using the plastic bolt; avoid over-tightening.

Assemble Shafts
Turn the twist locks counter-clockwise to loosen. Press the spring-loaded pin on the lower shaft and insert it into the desired hole on the middle shaft until the pin clicks into place. Repeat for the middle shaft and the upper shaft. Turn the twist locks clockwise to secure the shaft positions.

Attach Armrest and Handle
Position the armrest on the top of the upper shaft. Align the middle hole of the armrest with the nearest hole on the shaft, placing the armrest just below your elbow. Pass the screw through the middle of the handle, upper shaft, and armrest. Tighten the screw carefully. With the Velcro side up, thread the armrest strap through both slots of the armrest. Ensure the strap end connects outwards from your arm.

Connect Coil
Wrap the coil cable around the lower and middle shafts as needed. Secure the coil cable to the shaft using the Velcro fasteners. Align the coil connector with the socket on the back of the control box and gently tighten the securing ring.

Battery Charging
EQUINOX Series detectors have a built-in, rechargeable Li-Ion battery. It is recommended to fully charge the battery before first use. For the fastest charge time, keep the detector switched off during charging.
- Connect the USB connector of the magnetic charging cable to any standard [USB port].
- Connect the magnetic charging connector to the socket located on the back of the detector's user interface. The Charging Status [LED indicator] will begin to flash.
- When charging is complete, the Charging Status [LED indicator] will remain solid.

User Interface Overview
The user interface allows you to view and change detector settings.
- Power Button: Short press the [power button] to turn the device on/off. Long press (5 seconds) to reset to factory settings.
- Display Light: Select display brightness or turn the screen light on/off. The display light icon appears when the screen light is on.
- Sensitivity Indicator: Shows the approximate sensitivity level (25 levels). Adjust sensitivity using the [plus button] and [minus button] on the detector screen.
- Battery Status: The [LED indicator] indicates charging status during charging. You can also use your detector normally while connected to a USB power bank. Flashing: Charging. Solid: Fully Charged. The battery icon flashing indicates the battery needs charging.
- Detector Mode: Short press the [mode button] to cycle through Detector Modes. Long press for 5 seconds to reset the selected Search Profile to factory settings.
- Search Profiles: Each Detector Mode has 2 adjustable Search Profiles.
- Wireless Audio: Short press the Wireless button to turn Wireless mode on/off. Long press to pair with wireless devices. Supports [Bluetooth®] headphones with aptX™ Low Latency and the WM 08 Wireless Audio Module. Up to 4 wireless devices can be connected and used simultaneously.
- Depth Indicator: Shows the estimated depth of a detected object (5 levels).
- Tracking: Indicates that ground balance tracking is active.
- User Profile: Long press the [user profile button] to save current detector settings. Short press to toggle saved User Profiles on or off.
- Detector Settings Menu: Short press the [settings button] to open the Detector Settings menu and cycle through options. Long press while in the Settings Menu to open Advanced Settings, if available. Adjust the value of a selected setting using the [plus button] and [minus button].
- Noise Cancel: Automatic / Manual*.
- Ground Balance: Automatic / Manual.
- Volume: 0 to 25.
- Tone Volume: 0 to 25.
- Target Tone: 1, 2, 5, and 50.
- Tone Pitch: Metallic / Non-metallic*.
- Accept/Reject: 50 Segment resolution. Press the [accept/reject button] to immediately accept or reject a target. You can also create discrimination patterns from the Settings Menu. Select a segment using the [plus button] or [minus button] and press [accept/reject button] to accept or reject.
- Discrimination: High resolution 50 segment scale (-9 to 40) for accurate and balanced target identification. Target ID -9 to 0 is metallic (e.g., -5). Target ID 1 to 40 is non-metallic (e.g., 32).
- Detection Speed: 1 to 3 | 1 to 8*.
- Iron Bias: 0 to 3 | 0 to 9*.
- All Metal Button: Press the [all metal button] to toggle selected discrimination settings for target confirmation.
- Pinpoint: Helps to precisely locate a detected object before excavating. Press the [pinpoint button] for pinpoint mode. Press again to return to the detector screen.
- Frequency: Shows the current operating frequency. Press the [frequency button] to cycle through operating frequency options in the selected Search Profile.
- Multi-Frequency Indicator: A rectangle appears when operating in Simultaneous Multi-Frequency mode. Shows the selected single frequency in kHz: 5, 10, 15, 20* or 40*.
