Installation Guide
Unlocking Hard Drive Tray
Use the provided key to unlock the hard drive tray. Press the buckle to release the handle, then pull the tray out.
Installing 3.5-inch Hard Drives (No Screwdriver Required)
- Flip the drive tray to its back.
- Press the "Press" icon buckle to pull the clamp arm outwards.
- Place the hard drive onto the tray, ensuring the four fastening pins align with the drive's screw holes.
- Push the clamp arm back to secure the drive in place.
- Load the completed tray into the NAS drive bay and lock it.
Installing 2.5-inch Hard Drives (Screwdriver Required)
- Adjust the drive tray's fastening pins by moving them from the rear to the front mounting holes using the tray key.
- Place the 2.5-inch drive onto the tray, aligning its screw holes with the tray's holes.
- Secure the drive by flipping the tray over and tightening the provided screws.
- Load the secured tray into the NAS drive bay and lock it.
Installing M.2 SSDs (Optional)
M.2 SSDs can function as regular storage drives or as a read/write cache to enhance random data performance.
- Power off the NAS and remove the bottom panel.
- Unscrew the M.2 fixing screws.
- Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot at the indicated angle and tighten the screws.
- Peel off the protective film from the silicone pad and apply it to the front of the SSD, then peel off the other side's film.
- Reinstall the panel and power on the NAS. Configure the SSD cache via the "UGREEN NAS" app.
Installing Memory Module
- Power off the NAS and remove the bottom panel.
- Align the notch on the memory module's pins with the corresponding ridge in the slot. Insert the module firmly into the slot.
- Reinstall the panel and tighten the screws.
Installing PCIe Expansion Card
- Power off the NAS and disconnect it from power. Remove all hard drive trays.
- Turn the NAS over, remove the bottom panel and feet.
- Remove the back ventilation cover.
- Remove the outer shell.
- Remove the screw from the existing bracket, then remove the bracket.
- Insert the PCIe card into the slot, ensuring it is securely connected, and tighten the screws.
- Reinstall the outer shell, bottom panel, and back cover.
Powering On & Indicators
Connect the NAS to a router's LAN port using an Ethernet cable, connect the power supply, and briefly press the power button to turn it on. After powering on, download the "UGREEN NAS" app to access the Control Panel for hardware and power settings, including automatic startup.

Binding & Settings
Web Client Binding & Settings
- Add Device: Visit find.ugnas.com, ensure NAS and computer are on the same LAN, select the device, and click "Connect".
- Initialize Device: Name the device, create a local administrator account, and optionally register/bind a UGREEN Cloud account. Check system update option.
- Set up Storage Mode: Navigate to "Storage Manager" in the UGREEN NAS app to configure storage pools and space.
Mobile App Binding & Settings
- Application Download: Scan the QR code on the device or visit the UGREEN website to download the "UGREEN NAS" app.
- Binding & Settings: Ensure NAS and phone are on the same LAN. Open the "UGREEN NAS" app. The system will auto-search for devices, or you can scan the device's QR code. Select the device and click "Connect".
- Initialize Device: Name the device, create a local administrator account, and optionally register/bind a UGREEN Cloud account. Check system update option.
- Set up Storage Mode: Navigate to "Storage Manager" in the UGREEN NAS app to configure storage pools and space.
Device Sharing
Share your NAS with others using two methods: Same Network: Admin creates a user account and shares credentials. Different Network: Enable UGREENlink service, then invite users via a generated link.
Reset Network & Password
With the NAS powered on, press and hold the RESET button for 5 seconds until a beep is heard. The device will not restart. Network indicators will turn solid white. Use the default 'admin' account with a blank password for initial login after reset, then set a new administrator password.
