Product Overview

The Qoltec Monolith DC-DC charger is an intelligent charging solution designed for 12V batteries, including LiFePO4, AGM, GEL, Calcium, SLA, and EFB types. It provides a stable and safe power source, making it ideal for use in 4-wheel drive vehicles, caravans, campers, trucks, commercial vehicles, boats, and yachts.

Intelligent 3-Stage Charging

The charger utilizes an intelligent 3-stage charging process:

Bulk Charge: Identifies the battery and its needs, charging up to 80% with constant current and high voltage.
Boost Charge: Absorption charging phase, maintaining charging voltage between 14.1VDC and 14.8VDC while reducing input current.
Float Charge: Final charging cycle where the battery reaches 95-100% capacity. Charging voltage is reduced to a constant 13.0VDC - 13.8VDC, and the charging current drops to 0A when the battery is fully charged.

How to Connect the Battery Correctly

To charge your battery, connect the D+ ignition cable to the DC-DC charger's D+ input, linking it to a 12V source. Select the correct battery type using the 5D button on the charger's side. Once the battery type is selected, the charger is ready. The unit activates when it receives a 12V signal, indicated by a green power light, and begins charging. Qoltec recommends using 18-16AWG copper cable.

Safety Features

Qoltec prioritizes safety, equipping the DC-DC chargers with comprehensive protection features:

UVP (Under Voltage Protection): Protects against under-voltage at the output.
SCP (Short Circuit Protection): Protects against short circuits.
OVP (Over Voltage Protection): Protects against excessively high output voltage.
OCP (Over Current Protection): Protects against too high current on the line.
OTP (Over Temperature Protection): Protects against overheating.

The starter battery is protected against over-discharge via the D+ ignition cable. For enhanced home battery protection, an LC cable can be connected to automatically regulate charging current.
