Safety Instructions
- The device is intended for indoor use only; do not use it near flammable materials.
- Do not allow sparks or flames near batteries, as they may release explosive gases during normal operation.
- The device must only be used at the nominal voltage and frequency.
- If cables need to be routed through walls with sharp edges, always use suitable protective sleeves or cable conduits to prevent cable damage.
- Do not allow children to play with the device.
- Do not allow the device to be submerged in water.
- Ensure that the air inlets and outlets on the device are not obstructed.
- Be careful and do not reverse the polarity when connecting batteries.
- Do not charge batteries that are not designed for charging.
- Disconnect the power supply before making or breaking connections with the battery.
WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Do not open the device if it is connected to the AC power source. This equipment has passed testing for compliance with CE standards and complies with applicable directives and standards.
NOTE: Batteries wear out after many years of use. Regular battery maintenance (e.g., annually) is recommended. After this period, batteries should be serviced by a qualified specialist, otherwise, damaged batteries may cause fires or other hazards.
Charging Instructions
1. Connecting the Charger to the Battery
Refer to Illustration 1 in the appendix (Note: No illustration provided in text, describing the connection process based on text).
- Set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
- The AC power cord should be disconnected. Connect the black cable to the charger's (-) terminal. Connect the other end of the cable to the negative pole of the battery.
- Connect the red cable to the charger's (+) terminal. Connect the other end of the cable to the positive pole of the battery.
2. Turning On the Charger
- Connect the AC power cord to the charger and the outlet.
- Set the ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
- The front panel of the charger has a control panel for selecting charging modes suitable for different battery types: STD, GEL, AGM, CAL, and LIFEPO4. This allows the user to easily adapt the charging process to the specific battery type, ensuring optimal performance and extending battery life. Additionally, the charger is equipped with an LED indicator that shows the current charging stage: FLOAT (maintenance charge), ABS (absorption charge), or BULK (main charge).
3. Turning Off the Charger
- Disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet.
- Set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
- Disconnect the charger clamps from the battery.
Three-Stage Charging
Stage 1 (BULK): This stage is designed to maximize battery charge by accelerating the charging cycle. The "BULK" LED illuminates, indicating that the device is delivering maximum charging current, stimulating a weak battery to absorb energy.
Stage 2 (ABSORPTION): When the battery reaches approximately 90% of its nominal capacity, the charger switches to "ABSORPTION" mode. In this stage, the device provides a constant voltage to the battery at a reduced current.
Stage 3 (FLOAT): When the charge reaches 90%, the "ABSORPTION" indicator will turn off, and the "FLOAT" indicator will turn on. In "FLOAT" mode, the charging current decreases, and the charging voltage remains constant. The battery remains in a constant "FLOAT" charging mode.
