Safety Instructions

  • The device is intended for indoor use only and must not be used near flammable materials.
  • Never allow sparks or flames near the battery, as explosive gases can be produced during normal operation.
  • Use the device only with its rated voltage and frequency.
  • When routing cables through walls with sharp edges, always use protective conduits or cable channels to prevent damage.
  • Keep children away from the device.
  • Do not expose the device to water.
  • Ensure that the air intake and outlet openings are unobstructed.
  • Be careful not to reverse battery connection polarity.
  • Do not charge batteries not designed for charging.
  • Disconnect the power supply before making or breaking connections with the battery.

WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Do not open the device while connected to the mains power supply. This equipment complies with CE standards and applicable directives.

NOTE: Batteries degrade over years of use. Annual maintenance is recommended. After several years, batteries should be serviced by a qualified technician to prevent fire hazards or other safety risks from damaged batteries.

Charging Instructions

1. Connecting the Charger to the Battery

Refer to Figure 1 for charger connections.

  1. Set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the AC power cord. Connect the black cable to the terminal marked with (-) on the charger side. Connect the other end of the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
  3. Connect the red cable to the terminal marked with (+) on the charger side. Connect the other end of the cable to the positive terminal of the battery.

2. Turning on the Charger

  1. Connect the AC power cord to the charger and to the mains socket.
  2. Set the ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
  3. The charger's front panel features a control panel for selecting charging modes suitable for different battery types: STD, GEL, AGM, CAL, and LIFEPO4. This allows users to easily adjust the charging process for specific battery types, ensuring optimal performance and extending battery life. The charger also has an LED indicator for the current charging stage: FLOAT (battery charging), ABS (absorption charging), or BULK (main charging).

3. Turning off the Charger

  1. Disconnect the AC power cord from the mains socket.
  2. Set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
  3. Disconnect the charger terminals from the battery.

Three-Stage Charging

  1. Stage 1 (Bulk): This stage maximizes battery charging by accelerating the cycle. The 'BULK' LED indicates the device is providing maximum charging current, stimulating energy absorption in a weak battery.
  2. Stage 2 (Absorption): When the battery reaches approximately 90% of its nominal capacity, the charger switches to 'ABSORPTION' mode. The device maintains a constant voltage to the battery with reduced current.
  3. Stage 3 (Float): Once the 90% charge level is reached, the 'ABSORPTION' indicator turns off, and the 'FLOAT' indicator lights up. In 'FLOAT' mode, charging current is reduced, and voltage remains constant. The battery is now in a constant charging 'FLOAT' mode.
