- Do not allow children to play with the device.
- Do not expose the device to water.
- Ensure that the air inlets and outlets of the device remain free from any obstructions.
- Be careful not to reverse the polarity of the battery connection.
- Do not charge batteries that are not designed to be charged.
- Disconnect the power supply before making or breaking connections to the battery.
WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Do not open the device if it is connected to an AC power source. This device has been tested according to CE standards and complies with applicable directives and standards.
NOTE: Batteries undergo a wear process after many years of use. Regular battery maintenance (e.g., annually) is recommended. After this period, batteries should be serviced by a qualified technician, otherwise damaged batteries may cause fires or other safety hazards.
Charging Instructions
- Connecting the charger to the battery (See Figure 1 in the appendix)
- Set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
- Disconnect the AC power cable. Connect the black cable to the terminal marked [-] on the charger side. Connect the other end of the cable to the negative pole of the battery.
- Connect the red cable to the terminal marked [+] on the charger side. Connect the other end of the cable to the positive pole of the battery.
- Activating the charger
- Connect the AC power cable to the charger and to the AC socket.
- Set the ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
- The charger's front panel features a control panel with charging mode selection suitable for different battery types: STD, GEL, AGM, CAL, and LiFePO4. This allows the user to adapt the charging process to the specific battery type, ensuring optimal performance and extending battery life. Additionally, the charger is equipped with an LED indicator that shows the current charging stage: FLOAT (maintenance charge), ABS (absorption charge), or BULK (main charge).
- Deactivating the charger
- Disconnect the AC power cable from the AC socket.
- Set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
- Disconnect the charger clamps connected to the battery.
Three-Stage Charging
Stage 1: This initial stage is designed to ensure maximum battery charging by accelerating the charging cycle. The "BULK" LED lights up to indicate that the unit is providing maximum charging current, stimulating the weak battery to absorb energy.
Stage 2: When the battery reaches approximately 90% of its nominal capacity, the charger will enter the "ABSORPTION" mode. During this stage, the unit provides a constant voltage to the battery with reduced current.
Stage 3: Once 90% charge is achieved, the "ABSORPTION" LED will turn off, and the "FLOAT" LED will turn on. In "FLOAT" mode, the charging current will be reduced, and the charging voltage will remain constant. The battery is now in the constant charging mode, "FLOAT".
