Safety Instructions
- The device is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it near flammable materials.
- Never allow sparks or flames near batteries, as they can produce explosive gases during normal operation.
- The device must be used only with the rated voltage and frequency.
- If cables need to be routed through walls with sharp edges, always use appropriate protective sleeves or cable conduits to prevent cable damage.
- Do not allow children to play with the device.
- Do not allow the device to be submerged in water.
- Ensure that the input and output ventilation openings of the device are free from any obstructions.
- Be careful not to reverse the polarity when connecting the battery.
- Do not charge batteries that are not designed for charging.
- Disconnect the power source before connecting or disconnecting the battery.
WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Do not open the device while it is connected to the AC power source. This equipment has been tested for compliance with CE standards and meets current directives and standards.
NOTE: Batteries are subject to wear and tear after many years of use. Regular battery maintenance (e.g., annually) is recommended. After this period, batteries should be serviced by a qualified technician, as damaged batteries can cause fire or other safety hazards.
Charging Instructions
1. Connecting the Charger to the Battery
Illustration 1 in appendix (Note: No appendix image provided in OCR, so this reference is kept but the image itself is not included as per instructions).
- Set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
- The AC power cord should be disconnected. Connect the black cable to the terminal marked (-) on the charger. Connect the other end of the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
- Connect the red cable to the terminal marked (+) on the charger. Connect the other end of the cable to the positive terminal of the battery.
2. Turning on the Charger
- Connect the AC power cord to the charger and the power outlet.
- Set the ON/OFF switch to the ON position.
- The front panel of the charger features a control panel for selecting charging modes suitable for different battery types: STD, GEL, AGM, CAL, and LIFEPO4. This allows the user to easily adapt the charging process to the specific battery type, ensuring optimal performance and extending battery life. Additionally, the charger is equipped with a light indicator that shows the current charging stage: FLOAT (maintenance charge), ABS (absorption charge), or BULK (main charge).
3. Turning off the Charger
- Disconnect the AC power cord from the power outlet.
- Set the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
- Disconnect the charger clamps from the battery.
Three-Stage Charging
Stage 1: BULK - The first stage is designed to maximize battery charge by accelerating the charging cycle. The "BULK" indicator lights up, indicating that the device is delivering maximum charging current, stimulating a weak battery to absorb energy.
Stage 2: ABSORPTION - When the battery reaches approximately 90% of its nominal capacity, the charger will switch to the "ABSORPTION" mode. In this stage, the device supplies a constant voltage to the battery with reduced current.
Stage 3: FLOAT - When the charge reaches 90%, the "ABSORPTION" LED will turn off, and the "FLOAT" LED will light up. In FLOAT mode, the charging current will be reduced, and the charging voltage will be maintained constantly. The battery remains in the constant charging mode, "FLOAT".
