Setting Up
Connecting to Your TV
The transmitter requires a power source. Connect it using either:
- A TV's USB power port (recommended for synchronized power on/off with the TV).
- A nearby wall outlet using a 5V / 500mA-2A rated USB charger (e.g., a phone charger). A USB adapter may be required; contact support@avantree.com for assistance.
Option 1 - Optical port (recommended)
Connect the provided optical audio cable from the TV's "OPTICAL OUT" port to the transmitter's optical port.

Option 2 - AUX 3.5mm port
Connect the provided AUX 3.5mm audio cable from the TV's AUX 3.5mm output port to the transmitter's AUX 3.5mm port.

Option 3 - RCA port
Connect an RCA adapter (not included) to the AUX 3.5mm audio cable. Plug the red and white RCA connectors into the TV's "AUDIO OUT" ports, then plug the other end into the transmitter's AUX 3.5mm port.

Connecting the Headphones to the Transmitter
Once the transmitter is set up, connect the headphones:
- STEP 1: Turn on both headphones by sliding the ON/OFF/PAIR switch to the ON position. The headphone LED indicator should start flashing blue.
- STEP 2: Power on the transmitter by sliding the ON/OFF switch to the ON position. The transmitter's Bluetooth LED will flash blue.
- STEP 3: Keep the headphones close to the transmitter. They should connect within 3-5 seconds. Upon successful connection, both the headphone and transmitter LEDs will turn solid blue.
NOTE: Some smart TVs may automatically scan for and attempt to pair with nearby Bluetooth devices. If your TV prompts you to connect your headphones or transmitter, please select "DENY" to ensure proper pairing with the Avantree system.
Setting Up Your TV (FOR OPTICAL CONNECTIONS ONLY)
If you connected your TV via the optical OUT port, you may need to adjust TV settings for audio output.
- STEP 1: Use your TV's remote control, press the SETTINGS button, and navigate to the AUDIO tab in the settings menu. (Note: Setting names may vary by TV brand/model).
- STEP 2: Go to AUDIO OUTPUT and select "OPTICAL OUT / DIGITAL OUT". Many TVs configure this automatically.
- STEP 3: Set the Audio Output format to "PCM / STEREO" or "DOLBY" OFF.

For assistance finding these settings, scan the QR code for your TV brand or visit avantree.com/41899/tv-audio-settings for a detailed guide.
NOTE 1: Smart TVs might reset settings after system updates. Ensure your audio output/input format is set to "PCM" and not "AUTO" or "Dolby."
NOTE 2: When using streaming services like Netflix or Amazon Prime, you may need to start playback before changing audio settings to "PCM."
Charging the Headphones
Connect the headphones to a power source using the provided power cable. The charging indicator shows approximately 2.5 hours for a full charge. The LED will change from solid red (charging) to off (fully charged).

FAQ
I have a Samsung / LG TV. Why are my headphones failing to reconnect to the transmitter?
Samsung / LG smart TVs may automatically pair with any available Bluetooth devices, which can interfere with the Avantree headphones reconnecting to their transmitter. To resolve this:
- DENY the Device: If a TV prompt asks to Allow or Deny/Block a device, select DENY/BLOCK to prevent it from connecting.
- REMOVE the Device: If the device is already paired, navigate to your TV's settings: SETTINGS > GENERAL > EXTERNAL DEVICE MANAGER >DEVICE CONNECTION MANAGER > DEVICE LIST > EDIT > Select all Avantree devices > DELETE. (Note: Menu paths may vary by TV brand/model).
- Turn OFF the TV: Physically turn off the TV or unplug it. Using the remote control only puts the TV into standby mode, which may still allow connections.
Can I have audio through my TV's speakers and wireless headphones at the same time?
This functionality depends entirely on whether your TV supports simultaneous audio output to multiple devices. You can test this by trying different methods. For more details, please refer to avantree.com/pages/support/ht41899-bluetooth-dual-headphones-tv-set.
