Set Up

Connecting to TV

The Oasis Plus 2 requires a power source to function. Connect it using the provided power cable to either:

  1. A TV's USB power port (recommended for automatic power ON/OFF synchronization with your TV).
  2. A nearby wall outlet using a 5V/500mA-2A rated USB adapter (most phone chargers are compatible). For assistance, contact support@avantree.com.

Once powered, switch the transmitter to the "ON" position. You can then connect it to your TV's audio ports using one of three methods:

OPTION 1: Optical Port (Recommended)

Connect the provided optical audio cable from your TV's "optical OUT" or "OPT OUT" port to the transmitter's optical port labeled "TX INPUT FROM TV".

Diagram: Shows the transmitter's rear ports (DC IN, AUX, OPTICAL) and a TV's rear ports. An optical cable connects the TV's 'OPT OUT' to the transmitter's 'OPTICAL' input.

Note: Most TVs support audio output through only one digital port at a time. If your TV's HDMI ARC port is in use, the optical port may be disabled. Consider disconnecting the HDMI ARC device or using an RCA/AUX connection.

OPTION 2: AUX 3.5mm Port

Connect the provided AUX 3.5mm audio cable from your TV's AUX 3.5mm output port to the transmitter's AUX 3.5mm port labeled "TX INPUT FROM TV".

Diagram: Shows the transmitter's rear ports and a TV's rear ports. An AUX 3.5mm cable connects the TV's 'AUX' output to the transmitter's 'AUX' input.

OPTION 3: RCA Port

Connect the red & white RCA connectors from your TV's "AUDIO OUT" ports to the provided RCA to AUX adapter, and then plug the adapter into the transmitter's AUX port.

Diagram: Shows the transmitter's rear ports and a TV's rear ports. An RCA to AUX adapter connects the TV's 'AUDIO OUT' (red and white RCA) to the transmitter's 'AUX' input.

Note: Ensure optical/RCA cables are plugged into the TV's audio OUT ports, not the AUDIO IN / COMPONENT IN ports.

Connecting Your Headphones

After setting up the Oasis Plus 2, you can connect your Bluetooth headphones or speakers.

  1. Step 1: Power on all devices.
  2. Step 2: For first-time use, the Oasis Plus 2 automatically enters PAIRING MODE. For subsequent use, press and hold the ? button until the " " LED flashes green and white alternately.
  3. Step 3: Put your Bluetooth headphones/speakers into PAIRING mode. Refer to their user manual for instructions.
  4. Step 4: Keep the Oasis Plus 2 and your device close together. Wait 5-10 seconds for connection. The connection indicator will turn solid white upon successful pairing.

Note 1: Connection failures often occur if the device is not properly in PAIRING MODE. Check your device's LED indicator (often alternate red & blue flashes).

Note 2: Some smart TVs may attempt to auto-pair with nearby Bluetooth devices. If prompted, "DENY" the TV's request to ensure proper pairing with the Oasis Plus 2.

Diagram: A TV screen shows a prompt: "Avantree Oasis Plus 2 Your permission is required to connect your device to TV. Allow Deny Close".

Setting Up Your TV (Optical Connections Only)

If you are using the optical connection, configure your TV settings:

  1. Step 1: Use your TV remote to navigate to the SETTINGS menu and select the AUDIO tab. (Setting names may vary by TV brand).
  2. Step 2: Proceed to AUDIO OUTPUT and select "OPTICAL OUT / DIGITAL OUT". Some TVs may do this automatically.
  3. Step 3: Set the Audio Output format to "PCM / STEREO" ON or "DOLBY" OFF.

Diagrams: Show TV screen examples for audio output settings: "Sound Audio Out ► Optical Out" and "Digital Audio Format ► PCM/Stereo or Dolby - OFF".

Advanced Features

Adding a Second Pair of Headphones

You can connect and listen with two pairs of headphones simultaneously. For a video guide, visit avantree.com/oasis-plus-2/video.

  1. Step 1: Pair your first pair of headphones following the instructions in the "Connecting Your Headphones" section (Page 11).
  2. Step 2: Once the first device is connected, put the Oasis Plus 2 into PAIRING MODE again by pressing and holding the ? button until the " " LED flashes GREEN and WHITE alternately.
  3. Step 3: Put your second pair of Bluetooth headphones/speakers into PAIRING mode.
  4. Step 4: Keep the Oasis Plus 2 and the second device close together. Wait 5-10 seconds for connection. The connection indicator will turn solid white.

Note: Dual headphone support works with most headphones but not all. Some true wireless earbuds may not function optimally with this mode.

Reconnecting Your Headphones

Your Bluetooth headphones/speakers should automatically reconnect to the Oasis Plus 2 when both devices are turned on. This may take a few seconds.

If automatic reconnection fails after 5-10 seconds, manually initiate reconnection by pressing the Oasis Plus 2's Pairing button once. If this still doesn't work, try initiating reconnection on your audio device (usually by pressing its main Bluetooth PLAY button).

Note: If you previously paired your headphones with another Bluetooth device, turn off Bluetooth on that device first. For example, Airpods may prioritize iPhones; turn off your iPhone's Bluetooth when pairing Airpods with the Oasis Plus 2.

Listening with a Soundbar

The Oasis Plus 2's pass-through function allows simultaneous listening through headphones and an external soundbar or stereo AVR.

  1. Step 1: Plug an additional optical or 3.5mm AUX cable into the corresponding "OUTPUT TO SPEAKER" port on the transmitter.
  2. Step 2: Connect the other end to your external sound system.

Diagram: Shows the Oasis Plus 2 connected to a TV/Audio Source and also to a Sound System via optical or AUX cables.

Note: The bypass function requires the same type of input/output connection. If connecting to the TV via OPT, you must also connect to the speaker via OPT.

Using the Remote

Use the ➕ and ➖ buttons on the remote controller to adjust volume. Ensure the remote is pointed towards the infrared window on the front of the Oasis Plus 2, within 4 meters, and with no obstacles.

Battery Replacement: If the remote runs out of power, replace the battery with a CR2025 3V Lithium battery. Use a coin or slotted screwdriver to turn the cap counterclockwise, replace the dead battery with a fresh one, and turn the cap back.

FAQ

Here are some common questions:

Can I have audio through both my TV speakers and my wireless headphones at the same time?

This depends on your TV's capability to output audio to two sources simultaneously. Test different methods or refer to avantree.com/oasis-plus-2/sound for details.

Why am I getting audio delay?

Both the sender (Oasis Plus 2) and receiver (your Bluetooth headphones) must support aptX Low Latency or aptX adaptive to eliminate audio delay. Check your device specifications. Most true wireless earbuds do not currently support these codecs.

Other Tips

If your TV's HDMI ARC port is in use, your optical audio output might not work. Try connecting via RCA/AUX or unplugging the HDMI ARC.

Why aren't I getting sound from my headphones?

Refer to the troubleshooting steps and FAQs on the Avantree website.

How do I connect my Oasis Plus 2 to my Samsung / LG smart TV?

Follow the connection guides in this manual and on the Avantree website.
