Tools and Supplies Required

  • Hex wrench (3 mm)
  • Isopropyl alcohol
  • Shop towel
  • Torque wrench

Torque Chart

Tighten all screws, bolts, and nuts to their specified torque values. Refer to the Service Manual for the torque values of the removed parts.

Installation

Notes:

  • Heat the bonding surfaces with a hair dryer if the ambient air temperature is below 70°F (21°C).
  • The adhesive reaches full strength in 72 hours. Wait at least 24 hours before riding your motorcycle.

Step 1: Prepare the Left Pannier Case Lid

Open the left pannier case lid. Remove the necessary parts as shown in the diagram. These parts include the O-RING, LID NUT, WASHER [save], and SCREW.

Step 2: Clean the Surface

To maintain the adhesive strength of the double-sided tape, clean the surface of the indicated area on the left pannier case with isopropyl alcohol.

Step 3: Peel Adhesive Backing

Peel off the adhesive backing on the left pannier panel as shown. Peel back the backing, leaving a small portion adhered to facilitate handling.

Step 4: Attach Left Pannier Panel

Align the left pannier panel with the shape of the left pannier case lid and attach it.

Step 5: Check Alignment

Temporarily set the screw and check that there is no misalignment. If there is a misalignment, start over from step 4.

Step 6: Secure the Panel

Remove the remaining adhesive backings while pressing firmly on the top box lid panel with your palm.

Step 7: Apply Pressure

Apply adequate pressure of 5kgf (50N) to the attached pannier case panel. Ensure to crimp with a force of 5 kgf (50 N).

Step 8: Allow Adhesive to Stabilize

Leave the pannier case panel for 10 minutes to stabilize the fitting of the adhesive surface.

Step 9: Install Remaining Parts

Install the remaining parts as shown. This includes the O-RING [reuse], LID NUT [reuse], and SCREW [reuse] onto the left pannier case.

Step 10: Install Right Pannier Panel

Install the right pannier panel in the same manner as the left side.
