Assembly Process
The assembly process is divided into several stages, guiding you through building the IDANÄS chest of drawers:
Frame Construction
Begin by assembling the main frame. This involves connecting the side panels, top, bottom, and back panels using dowels, screws, and cam locks. Drawer slides are attached to the interior of the side panels (Steps 1-4, 8, 10-14).
Drawer Assembly
Construct the four drawers. This includes assembling the drawer sides, back, and bottom panels, attaching drawer slides to the sides of each drawer box, and fitting the drawer handles or knobs (Steps 5, 6, 15-18, 20, 23, 25, 26, 29, 32-34, 36-39).
Integration and Final Touches
Insert the assembled drawers into the main unit. Ensure all components are securely fastened. The top panel is attached, and final adjustments are made to the drawers for smooth operation (Steps 19, 21, 22, 24, 27, 28, 30, 31, 35).
Wall Anchoring
Crucially, secure the assembled unit to the wall using the provided anti-tip hardware to prevent tipover accidents. This involves attaching a bracket to the furniture and then fastening it to the wall with appropriate screws and wall plugs, depending on the wall type (solid, hollow, or wood). Detailed instructions for wall anchoring are provided, emphasizing the importance of professional advice if unsure (Steps 25, 26).
