Functions
Boot and Working Status of Device
Upon battery installation, the device starts automatically. The siren rings, the red LED flashes once, and the blue LED flashes for 2 seconds. If not connected to WiFi within 30 seconds, it enters sleep state. A short press of the key button can re-enter network configuration mode. Once WiFi is connected, the device automatically sleeps.
Function of the Key Button
- When in sleep mode (no network configuration): Short press to wake up the device and enter network configuration mode.
- Test Mode: Cannot be entered directly. If the device is not in sleep state, a short press does nothing.
- After WiFi configuration and in sleep mode: Short press to wake up, trigger test alarm, take a photo, and push to the app. The siren/red LED will flash.
- When not asleep: Short press to stop Test mode.
- When Test alarm is triggered (siren/red LED flashing): Short press to stop the alarm, continue taking photos, and push the photo.
- After smoke alarm is triggered for 3 seconds: Short press once to stop the alarm. If smoke is detected continuously, press the button to turn off the siren.
Smoke Alarm
Detection frequency is once every 10 seconds, accelerating until an alarm is given. When triggered, the siren continues, the red LED flashes continuously, and photos are pushed to the APP. Long press the key button for 5 seconds to clear WiFi information and restore factory settings.
Flash LED
The flash LED lights up for 5 seconds when taking photos and turns off upon completion.
LED Indicator
- Power on: Blue light flashes for 2 seconds, then changes based on network state.
- Waiting for network configuration: Blue light blinks on and off every 2 seconds.
- Network interruption: Blue light comes on every 4 seconds.
- Internet connected: Blue light is off.
- Test push: Blue light flashes, then changes based on network status, and the red LED flashes simultaneously.
- Smoke alarm trigger: Red light flashes continuously until the next detection.
Low Power Alarm
When battery voltage drops below 2.3V, the APP sends low-power notifications every 24 hours until the battery is replaced.
Ignore Push
If the APP receives a push notification for a smoke alarm, pressing the 'ignore' button on the interface will prevent further pushes for 2 minutes. The siren/red LED will still alarm every 5 seconds.
OTA (Over-The-Air) Updates
- The APP displays version information, allowing users to manually upgrade the firmware.
- Monthly checks prompt users to upgrade firmware if a new version is available.
Application Scenarios
Recommended for warehouses, living rooms, sitting rooms, study rooms, storehouses, dining rooms, or workshops. The alarm is sensitive to smoke, dust, water mist, and volatile gas. It is not suitable for areas with heavy dust, water mist, such as kitchens, bathrooms, or air vents with wind speeds exceeding 5m/s, as smoke accumulation is difficult in these locations.
Instructions
1. Pull out the battery insulator from the battery box. The blue light on the front of the smoke detector will start to flash slowly (every 2 seconds), indicating the battery is energized and waiting for network configuration.
2. Follow the instructions in the mobile APP to add the smart smoke alarm.
3. When the test button is pressed, the alarm will emit sound and light prompts. The flash LED will illuminate, and the camera will capture photos and send them to the mobile APP.
4. When smoke concentration reaches the limit, the smoke sensor triggers the alarm. The red indicator light will flash continuously, the alarm will emit a "beep" sound, and photos of the scene will be captured and sent to the mobile APP.
Connect to the Network
1. APP Download
Search for "Eye4" in the App Store, Google Play, or other phone platform stores to download the APP.
2. Account Register
Launch the Eye4 APP, select the "Register" button, create a username and password, and tap 'Submit'. It is recommended to note down your username and password for future logins.
3. Add the Device
There are two methods: Scan QR code and Others. Ensure your mobile phone's Bluetooth function is enabled before adding the device.
Scan QR Code Method
1. Open the APP, click the "+" icon in the upper right corner of the homepage, and scan the QR code on the body of the smoke alarm.
2. After successfully scanning the code, confirm the blue indicator light of the smoke alarm flashes every 2 seconds. Check the corresponding option on the APP page and click "Next".
(Note: If there is no network configuration for 30 seconds, the blue light will turn off, and the device will enter sleep mode. Pressing the key button will re-enter network configuration mode, flashing every 2 seconds.)
Reset Method
Long press the "Test/Reset button" for 5 seconds to reset the device. After a successful reset, the blue light will flash every 2 seconds.
WiFi Configuration
1. The APP will search for the smoke alarm, which takes approximately 5-30 seconds. Once detected, click "configure" to enter the WiFi configuration page.
2. Confirm your WiFi SSID and enter the correct WiFi password, then click "Working".
3. After the binding is completed, the device will appear on the APP homepage.
If this method fails, you may try the 'Others' way.
Others Method
1. Open the APP, click the "+" icon in the upper right corner of the homepage.
2. Select "Others" in the lower right corner, then select "Photograph smoke detector", and choose the correct model (refer to the product model on the package box).
3. Confirm the blue indicator light of the smoke alarm flashes every 2 seconds. Check the option on the APP page and click "Next".
(Note: Similar to the QR code method, if no network configuration occurs for 30 seconds, the blue light goes out, and the device enters sleep mode. Pressing the key button will re-enter network configuration mode, flashing every 2 seconds.)
4. The APP will search for the smoke alarm (5-30 seconds). After detection, click "configure" to enter the WiFi configuration page. Confirm your WiFi SSID and password, then click "Working". The device will be added to the APP homepage upon successful binding.
Use and Share
Smoke Alarm Prompt
If the device is connected to the network successfully and smoke concentration reaches the alarm value: the alarm's red light flashes continuously, the siren sounds twice (beep, beep, beep), the fill light illuminates, the alarm captures a picture, and the picture is sent to the APP.
If the device is not connected to the network: the alarm sounds, the red indicator light flashes, the fill light does not illuminate, and no photo is taken.
Device Share
Open the APP, click the [options] icon (three dots) on the upper right corner of the alarm's settings, choose "Share", and then share the device's QR code with other users. Other users can scan this QR code to add the device.
Installation Guide
The installation location is generally the center of the room, under the ceiling. For sloping beam roofs, the ceiling is also inclined. The angle of inclination of the alarm shall not exceed 45°C, and the horizontal distance from the apex shall not exceed 0.9 meters.
- Step 1: Fix the base to the ceiling using screws and plastic expansion rubber plugs.
- Step 2: Install the detector onto the base by rotating it clockwise.
FAQ
Q: Why can't I add the device to the mobile app?
A:
- Confirm the wireless network is 2.4GHz frequency.
- Ensure the device is in standby state (indicator flashes once every second).
- Verify the WiFi password connected to your cell phone does not exceed 16 characters and contains only letters and numbers (no special characters like @!).
- If the mobile app has a new version, please upgrade to the latest version.
Q: The device is online and has push events, but the phone doesn't receive push information.
A: Ensure "self-starting" and "app permission" are enabled on the phone. Turn off "battery optimization" and avoid ending the APP in the background or during screen time. (Note: Mobile phone manufacturer optimization methods vary; refer to your specific device's settings.)
Q: If I have the network, do I still need to buy another gateway?
A: No, you can connect to the internet using a normal Wi-Fi router in your home.
Q: Can it alarm for gas leaks?
A: No.
Q: What if there is no alarm when there is smoke?
A:
- Check if the alarm's network connection is normal. (When not connected to the network, the alarm sounds, and the red indicator light flashes, but no fill lights are on, and no pictures are taken).
- Check if the battery power is sufficient. If there is a low power alarm, replace the battery with one of the same specification in time.
