VStarcam IP Camera User Manual

Dear Customer, Thank you for purchasing a VStarcam product! Please follow the steps below to configure your camera. Note: Users who have already downloaded the Eye4 APP and registered an account can skip steps 1 and 2.

1. Software Download

There are two ways to download the Eye4 APP:

  1. Method 1: Scan QR Code

Scan the QR code below using your mobile device's camera or a QR scanner app. It is recommended to use your mobile browser or WeChat to scan the QR code for downloading the software.

  2. Method 2: App Stores

For iPhone, please go to the App Store. For Android phones, please open the Google Play Store or other app markets, search for "Eye4" APP, and download it.

2. Register Account

After downloading and installing the Eye4 APP:

  1. For Android/iOS: Click the "Register" button, enter your desired username and password, and submit to complete account registration.
  2. The APP also supports direct login using third-party accounts like QQ or Weibo.

Note: Account format must be 6-50 characters (numbers, letters, underscore). Password format must be 8-31 characters (numbers + letters, case-sensitive). It is strongly recommended to bind an email address in "My Account & Security" after successful registration to facilitate password recovery.

3. Setting Up Camera Network Connection

Plug in the camera and wait approximately 30 seconds for it to start up. A "car-locking" sound indicates successful startup. There are two primary methods to connect the camera to the mobile APP: "Scan to Add" and "Other Ways".

3.1 Scan to Add

  1. Log in to the APP. On the homepage, tap the [Add Icon] symbol in the upper right corner, then select "Scan to Add". Scan the QR code located on the camera's body label.
  2. The APP will start searching for the camera. After about 30 seconds, it will find the camera. Tap "Add it" to bind the camera.

Note: If the camera's label does not have a QR code, or if the "Scan to Add" method fails, you can use the "Other Ways" method.

3.2 Other Ways of Adding

Log in to the APP, tap the [Add Icon] symbol in the upper right corner of the homepage, then select "Other Ways" → "IP Camera".

  • If you do not have a router or Wi-Fi network: Use the "AP Mode Adding" option, specifically "For environments without a router".
  • If you have a router and Wi-Fi network: You can use "AP Mode Adding" ("For environments with a router"), "Search in LAN", or "Manually Add".

3.2.1 No Router or Wi-Fi Network

  1. Select "AP Mode Adding" → "For environments without a router".
  2. Click "Switched success" to proceed. (Note: The camera defaults to WiFi hotspot mode. If you cannot find the camera's hotspot in your phone's WLAN list, or if the camera has been configured, you can reset it to factory default by unscrewing the bottom lid, finding the [Reset Button], and holding it for 10 seconds. The camera will then switch to WiFi hotspot mode.)
  3. The APP will start searching for the camera (approximately 30 seconds). The binding interface will appear. Click "Add it" to add the camera. (Note: At this stage, your mobile phone is connected to the camera's hotspot and cannot access the internet. If your phone prompts you to switch networks, choose not to switch to maintain the connection.)

3.2.2 There is a router and Wi-Fi network

  1. Select "AP Mode Adding" → "For environments with a router", then click "Switched success" to proceed. (Note: If you cannot find the camera's hotspot, refer to step 3.2.1 ② for resetting the camera.)
  2. Click "Switched success" to enter the next step. The WiFi SSID will appear. Confirm your network name and enter the WiFi password, then click to proceed.
  3. The APP will start searching for the camera (approximately 30 seconds). Once detected, the binding interface will pop up. Click "Add it" to bind the camera.

Note: If AP mode adding fails, you can use "Search in LAN" or "Manually Add". Please connect the camera to your router's LAN port with a network cable first. The yellow network indicator light on the camera's tail line should flicker.

3.2.2.1 Search in LAN
  1. Click "Search in LAN" to find all cameras connected to the same router as your phone. Confirm the network indicator is normal, then proceed.
  2. The APP will search for cameras (approximately 30 seconds). The binding interface will appear. Click "Add it" to bind the camera.

Note: After successful network connection, other users can use "Search in LAN" to add the camera. Cameras already added will not be searched again. If the binding interface does not appear, try again or select "Manually Add".

3.2.2.2 Manually Add

After clicking "Manually Add", enter the 15-bit UID code or scan the QR code on the camera's bottom label to automatically extract the UID. Then, enter the camera's password to complete the binding.

Note: After adding the camera via "Search in LAN" or "Manually Add", if you wish to use WiFi mode, follow the steps below.

  1. On the APP homepage, tap the [Menu Icon] symbol (⋮) in the upper right corner of the camera view, navigate to "Parameter Settings" → "WiFi Setting". Select your smartphone/tablet's connected WiFi, enter the password, and click "done".
  2. Wait for the camera to prompt "please remove the network cable, camera will restart...". Remove the network cable (keep the camera powered on). The camera will reboot automatically.

Note: If setup fails, refer to the network cable connection method or try a different router.

4. Change Password

For enhanced security, the camera's password must be changed after the first time it's added.

Method: On the APP homepage, tap the [Play Icon] symbol (▶️), create a new password as prompted, and click "Submit". The new password will take effect in about 10 seconds.

5. White Lights

The camera lens has white lights on the lower left and right sides to provide illumination at night, enabling full-color night vision. There are three modes for the white light lamp: Close, 24 Hours Full, and Fixed schedule. Access these modes via the APP homepage: tap the [Menu Icon] symbol (⋮) in the upper right corner of the camera view, go to "Settings" → "Mode Setting".

The white light lamp also functions for video recording fill light and strong light deterrent. After enabling motion detection alarm, find the "Light" option. Three modes are available: Close, Fill light, and Blinking. Select the desired mode.

Note: After selecting a mode, a description of that mode will appear under the "Light" option.

6. Remote Access

To access the camera remotely, both your phone and the camera must be connected to the network and the internet. Open the APP to view the camera directly without additional setup.

Note: Remote access is not possible if the camera is not connected to the router and internet.

7. Parameter Settings of Cameras

On the APP homepage, tap the [Menu Icon] symbol (⋮) in the upper right corner and go to "Settings" to access the following menus:

  • Basic Parameters: View camera basic information, change password, upgrade firmware, reboot, and delete the camera.
  • Video Viewing: Configure night vision mode, horizontal/vertical mirror view, light mode, brightness, and contrast.
  • SD Recording: Check SD card capacity, set schedule recording, motion detection recording, and choose whether to record audio. (Formatting the SD card before recording is recommended.)
  • Alarm: Enable/disable motion detection alarm, set notification type, and alarm time frame. Motion detection alarm sensitivity can be set to low, middle, or high.
