Important Information
Battery
The factory-installed battery may be discharged during shipping and storage. If the display is dim or shows other signs of low power, replace the battery at an authorized CASIO service center or distributor.
Water Resistance
For all watch categories, avoid the following actions underwater:
- Pressing buttons.
- Setting the crown.
- Unscrewing the crown.
If exposed to salt water, rinse thoroughly with fresh water and dry. Do not wear a leather strap watch while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Water Resistance Ratings
Rating | Description | Splash/Rain | Swimming/Washing | Diving | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
II | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
III | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
IV | 200 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- WR (Water Resistant) means the watch is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause problems.
- 5 Bar (50 meters) water resistance can withstand water pressure of that level and can be used during showering and brief swimming.
- 10 Bar (100 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- 20 Bar (200 meters) water resistance means the watch can be used for diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Watch Care
Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself. The rubber gasket protecting the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years. If moisture gets inside the watch, have it checked immediately by a dealer or CASIO distributor.
General Precautions
Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures. Wear it carefully and avoid drops. Do not fasten the strap too tightly; a finger should fit between your wrist and the strap.
To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use volatile agents (e.g., gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners).
When not in use, store the watch in a dry place. Avoid contact with gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc., as chemical reactions can damage gaskets, cases, and polish.
Some models have silk-screened designs on the strap. Be careful when cleaning these straps to avoid damaging the designs.
For watches with plastic straps: A white powdery substance may appear on the strap. This is harmless and can be removed by wiping with a cloth. Sweat or moisture, or storage in high humidity, can damage or crack the strap. Wipe it with a soft cloth when possible.
For watches with fluorescent cases and straps: Prolonged direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to fade. Prolonged contact with moisture can also cause fading. Wipe off any moisture immediately. Contact with other damp surfaces can cause discoloration. Ensure the fluorescent surface is dry and avoid contact with other surfaces.
Friction with other surfaces can transfer fluorescent paint. Minor condensation may form inside the glass due to sharp temperature changes; this is normal and not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage or claims arising from the use of this watch.
About This Manual
Depending on the model, the display may show dark characters on a light background or light characters on a dark background. This manual uses dark characters on a light background for all examples. Buttons are labeled with letters (A, B, C, D, L).
Getting to Know Your Watch
Congratulations on your CASIO watch purchase. Please read this manual carefully for maximum information.
Solar Charging
The solar panel converts light into electrical energy to charge the rechargeable battery. When not in use, leave the watch in a well-lit area to charge. Maximize exposure to light.
When not wearing the watch, keep it in a well-lit area. If the watch face is partially covered, charging will be slower.
Your watch will continue to operate even without light, but prolonged use without light can discharge the battery and disable functions. If the battery fully discharges, functions may be disabled until it is recharged. After recharging, you may need to reconfigure settings.

Diagram Description: Shows power saving indicator [PS].
Precautions
General Precautions
Avoid reading the watch in dangerous situations (e.g., while driving, walking near traffic). Turn off auto-backlight when operating vehicles.
Radio Calibration Precautions
Strong electrostatic discharge can cause incorrect time setting. Radio signals reflect off the ionosphere, and atmospheric conditions can affect reception. Reception may be temporarily impossible. Even with successful reception, the watch may gain or lose up to 1 second. Manual settings are overridden by radio calibration signals. The date and day of the week update automatically from 2000 to 2099. Leap year is accounted for.
Backlight Precautions
The electro-luminescent panel's brightness decreases over time. Sunlight may make the backlight difficult to see. A faint click may be heard when the auto-light activates (normal). Backlight turns off automatically when an alarm sounds. Frequent backlight use drains the battery.
Auto-Backlight Precautions
Wearing the watch on the inside of the wrist or excessive movement can cause the backlight to activate frequently, draining the battery. Turn off auto-backlight if this is an issue. The backlight may not activate if the watch is tilted less than 15 degrees from horizontal. It may stay on for about one second longer than usual in some cases. Static electricity or magnetic fields can interfere with auto-backlight. If it fails, try repositioning the watch.
Power Source Precautions
The watch is powered by a solar panel and rechargeable battery. Keep the watch exposed to light for charging. Avoid covering the solar panel with clothing. If the watch is not exposed to light for extended periods, the battery will discharge. The rechargeable battery may eventually lose its ability to hold a full charge; contact CASIO service for replacement. Never attempt to replace the battery yourself.
Radio Calibration Transmitter Precautions
Reception depends on the selected Home City Code. Signals are received from transmitters in the USA, Japan, Europe (Germany/UK), and China. If multiple transmitters are available, the watch prioritizes the one from which it last received a successful signal.
