Heart Rate Monitor and Connectivity

The Optional Chest Heart Rate Monitor

Using a chest heart rate monitor helps maintain proper heart rate for fat burning and cardiovascular strengthening. Purchase information is on the front cover. The console is compatible with all BLUETOOTH Smart heart rate monitors.

How to Connect Your Tablet to the Console

  1. Download and install the iFit Bluetooth Tablet app from your tablet's app store. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your tablet. Set up an iFit account.

Access Settings Mode by pressing and holding the On/Reset button. This mode allows selection of units of measurement (E for English miles, M for metric kilometers) by pressing the Display button. It also displays console usage information: total distance and total time used.

Note: Replacing batteries may require reselecting units. Exit Settings Mode by pressing the Apps button repeatedly.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and reduces wear. Inspect and tighten all parts before each use. Replace worn parts immediately.

To clean the bike, use a damp cloth and mild detergent. Keep liquids away from the console and avoid direct sunlight to prevent damage.

Console Troubleshooting

If the console display is dim, replace the batteries (see assembly step 10). Most console issues are due to low batteries.

How to Adjust the Reed Switch

If the console does not display correct feedback, adjust the reed switch. Identify the Right Shield (15), remove the five M4 x 16mm Screws (81), and carefully pull the shield away. Locate the Reed Switch (29) and slightly loosen the two M5 x 12mm Screws (79). Rotate the Right Crank Arm (18) until a Magnet (76) aligns with the Reed Switch. Slide the Reed Switch toward or away from the Magnet. Retighten the screws. Repeat until feedback is correct. Reattach the right shield.

Exercise Guidelines

⚠️ WARNING: Before beginning this or any exercise program, consult your physician. This is especially important for persons over age 35 or persons with pre-existing health problems.

The heart rate monitor is not a medical device; readings may vary and are intended as an exercise aid for general trends.

These guidelines help plan your exercise program. For detailed information, consult a reputable book or your physician. Proper nutrition and adequate rest are essential for successful results.

Exercise Intensity

Exercising at the proper intensity is key to achieving goals like burning fat or strengthening the cardiovascular system. Use your heart rate as a guide.

Heart Rate Chart Description: The chart provides recommended heart rates for fat burning and aerobic exercise based on age. Find your age group at the bottom (rounded to the nearest ten years). The three numbers above your age indicate your "training zone": lowest for fat burning, middle for maximum fat burning, and highest for aerobic exercise.

Burning Fat: Exercise at a low intensity for a sustained period. Your body uses stored fat calories for energy after initial carbohydrate use. Aim for your heart rate near the lowest number in your training zone for fat burning, or the middle number for maximum fat burning.

Aerobic Exercise: Perform activity requiring large amounts of oxygen for prolonged periods to strengthen the cardiovascular system. Aim for your heart rate near the highest number in your training zone.

Workout Guidelines

Exercise Frequency

To maintain or improve condition, complete three workouts weekly with at least one rest day between. After a few months, increase to five workouts weekly if desired. Make exercise a regular and enjoyable part of your life.

Part List

The Part List details all components of the exercise bike with their corresponding key numbers, quantities, and descriptions. It is used in conjunction with the Exploded Drawing for assembly and replacement part identification.

Exploded Drawing

The Exploded Drawing provides a visual representation of all parts of the exercise bike, showing how they fit together. Each part is labeled with its key number for easy reference during assembly and maintenance.
