Maintenance and Troubleshooting

How to Maintain the Exercise Bike

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance. Inspect and tighten all parts regularly. Replace worn parts immediately with manufacturer-supplied parts. Clean the bike with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Keep liquids away from the console and avoid direct sunlight.

How to Maintain the Pedals

Tighten pedals weekly: right pedal clockwise, left pedal counterclockwise.

How to Troubleshoot the Console

If the console display is dim, replace batteries (see assembly step 15). Most console problems are due to low batteries. If the bike is stored for extended periods, remove batteries. If CH0 or CH1 appears, recalibrate the resistance system (see assembly step 15).

How to Troubleshoot the Tablet Holder

If the tablet holder does not stay in place, rotate it backward and tighten the locknut (A) inside the bracket mount until it stays in place.

How to Adjust the Reed Switch

If the console feedback is incorrect, adjust the reed switch (57). Loosen the M4 x 20mm Screws (87) on the left side. Turn the Left Crank Arm (19) until a Magnet (62) aligns with the Reed Switch. Slide the switch toward or away from the magnet. Retighten screws. Turn the crank arm and repeat if necessary.

How to Adjust the Drive Belt

If pedals slip even at high resistance, the drive belt may need adjustment. Locate the Idler Cover (36), remove the M4 x 12mm Blunt Screw (80) and the cover. Tighten the M10 x 60mm Screw (65) until the drive belt is tight. Reattach the Idler Cover (36).

Exercise Guidelines

⚠️ WARNING: Consult your physician before beginning any exercise program, especially if over 35 or with pre-existing health problems.

These guidelines help plan your exercise program. Proper nutrition and rest are essential.

Exercise Intensity

To burn fat or strengthen your cardiovascular system, exercise at the proper intensity. Use your heart rate as a guide. The chart shows recommended heart rates for fat burning and aerobic exercise. Find your age group to determine your training zone (lowest for fat burning, middle for maximum fat burning, highest for aerobic exercise).

  • Burning Fat: Exercise at low intensity for sustained periods. Your body uses carbs first, then fat. Aim for the lowest number in your training zone for fat burning, or the middle number for maximum fat burning.
  • Aerobic Exercise: Perform aerobic exercise for cardiovascular strengthening. Adjust intensity until your heart rate is near the highest number in your training zone.

How to Measure Your Heart Rate

Exercise for at least four minutes. Stop, place two fingers on your wrist, count heartbeats for six seconds, and multiply by 10 (e.g., 14 beats x 10 = 140 bpm).

Workout Guidelines

  • Warming Up: 5-10 minutes of stretching and light exercise to increase body temperature, heart rate, and circulation.
  • Training Zone Exercise: 20-30 minutes within your training zone. (Limit to 20 minutes in the first few weeks). Breathe regularly.
  • Cooling Down: 5-10 minutes of stretching to improve flexibility and prevent post-exercise problems.

Exercise Frequency

Complete three workouts per week with at least one rest day between. After a few months, you can increase to five workouts per week. Consistency is key.
