Installation Guide

Package Contents

The package includes:

Installation

The extender can be mounted in two ways: Wall Mounting or Pole Mounting.

Option 1: Wall Mounting

  1. Drill two holes on the wall and insert the plastic wall anchors. Secure the mounting bracket to the wall with screws, ensuring the "UP" mark is on the outside and pointing upward.
  2. Attach the PoE+ extender to the mounting bracket by sliding it in the indicated direction until it locks into place.

Option 2: Pole Mounting

  1. Secure the mounting bracket to the pole with the provided straps, ensuring the "UP" mark is on the outside and pointing upward.
  2. Attach the PoE+ extender to the mounting bracket by sliding it in the indicated direction until it locks into place.

Waterproofing

To maintain proper waterproofing, select the correct seal based on the actual cable type and outer diameter.

LED Explanation

LED Status Explanation
Link/Act Solid Green RJ45 port linked at 1 Gbps
Link/Act Solid Yellow RJ45 port linked at 10/100 Mbps
Link/Act Flashing RJ45 port transmitting or receiving data
Link/Act Off RJ45 port not linked

Connections

Connect the grounding terminal to grounding facilities using the provided proper grounding wire.

Connection Diagram:

[Diagram: Power Sourcing Equipment (PSE) like a PoE Switch or Injector connects to the "PoE In" port of the Omada PoE+ Extender. The "PoE Out" port of the extender connects to a Powered Device (PD). The distance can be up to 100/250m depending on the cable type.]

Note:

  1. Ensure the PSE and PD devices are connected to the corresponding ports properly.
  2. For long-distance connections (over 100 meters), especially to IP cameras or similar devices, it is recommended to set the port speed of both the PSE and PD to 10 Mbps full-duplex or enable Extend Mode on the PSE.

FAQ

Q1. Which devices can work normally with the extender?
A: Only PSE and PD devices compliant with IEEE 802.3af/at can function well with the extender. Do not use the extender with other devices to extend the data transmission distance only.
Q2. Why is the Link/Act LED not lit?

A1: Ensure your network cable is in good condition and that both the PSE (Power Sourcing Equipment) and PD (Powered Device) are properly connected to the correct ports.

A2: POE20E-Outdoor features an adaptive data rate design. Link stability may be affected by cable length, cable quality, and the characteristics of the connected devices. Under certain conditions-such as using 160-170m Cat5e cables (tested in lab environments)-intermittent connectivity may occur.

To resolve this issue:

  1. Manually configure the connected device to operate at 10 Mbps full-duplex or enable Extend Mode on the PSE.
  2. Adjust the cable length to avoid the affected range.
