Assembly Instructions
The following steps detail the assembly process for the TONSTAD bookcase. Ensure all parts are present before beginning. Tools required include screwdrivers, a hammer, a drill, and a wrench.
Tools and Hardware Overview
The following hardware is included:
- Screws (various sizes, e.g., Ø 5/16" (8 mm), Ø 1/8" (3 mm))
- Dowels
- Wall plugs
- Brackets for wall attachment
- Shelf supports
- Feet/base components
- Safety strap/cable
- Wrench

Assembly Steps:
- Attach connectors to panels using screws.
- Connect two main frame panels.
- Assemble the base structure by connecting more panels.
- Insert internal dividers or shelves into the frame.
- Attach the back panel to the assembled frame.
- Insert shelf supports into the pre-drilled holes on the side panels.
- Insert additional shelf supports as needed.
- Assemble the base or feet components.
- Attach the assembled base to the main unit.
- Connect further frame parts to complete the main structure.
- Continue connecting frame parts.
- Complete the main frame assembly.
- Secure various parts using the provided connectors and screws.
- Position the assembled unit in its intended location.
- Attach wall mounting brackets to the back of the unit.
- Attach additional wall mounting brackets to the unit.
- Secure the unit to the wall using the provided brackets and screws. Ensure the unit is firmly attached to the wall.
- Attach the safety strap or cable to the unit and the wall for tip-over prevention.
- Attach the feet or base components to the bottom of the unit.
- Secure the unit to the wall, ensuring it is stable.
- Attach the final wall mounting hardware.
- Complete the final securing of the unit to the wall.
- Position the unit in its final location.
- Wall Mounting Guidance: Use appropriate screws and plugs for your wall type (solid wall A, hollow wall B, solid wood C). For solid wood, use screws without plugs. If unsure, seek professional advice. Ensure correct drill bit sizes are used (e.g., Ø 8 mm (5/16") for wall plugs, Ø 3 mm (1/8") for wood screws).
- Insert shelves into the unit, ensuring they are properly seated on the shelf supports.
- Place the bookcase in its final position against the wall.
