Nespresso Essenza Plus Descaling Guide
Important Information Before You Begin
Nespresso recommends descaling every 3 months or 300 capsules, whichever comes first.
Use only the Nespresso Descaling Kit, which contains a natural solution designed to dissolve scale buildup. Other solutions, such as vinegar or store-bought descalers, may damage your Nespresso machine.
Caution: Descaling solution can damage or discolor surfaces. Place protective material underneath your machine to catch potential spills. Clean up any spills immediately to prevent damage.
Safety Precautions:
- Keep descaling solution out of reach of children.
- In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical advice.
- Do not swallow or ingest the descaling solution. It may be irritating to the eyes and skin.
During Descaling:
- Avoid filling the water tank during the descaling process.
- After descaling, wipe down the machine with a damp cloth.

Step 10: Discard Solution and Clean Tray
Discard the used descaling solution. Empty the drip tray and replace it on the machine.
Step 11: Rinse Water Tank and Refill

Step 12: Reposition Container
Replace the empty container under the coffee spout.
Step 13: Start Rinsing Cycle
To begin the rinsing process, press and release the Hot Water button. The descaling alert light will stay on, and the 3 buttons will scroll from rear to front as rinsing begins. Once the water tank is empty and the machine stops running, repeat steps 11 through 13 to perform a second rinse cycle.
