Assembly & Installation Instructions
- Carefully remove the fixture from the carton and check that all parts and accessories are included as shown in the illustration.
- Turn off power: Before starting installation, ensure electricity is shut off at the main fuse or circuit breaker and the wall switch is in the "OFF" position.
- Unscrew ball knobs (G) from canopy (E) and gently remove the mounting plate (A).
- Adjust the length of cord (H) for the desired fixture height:
- Use the Allen wrench (L) to unscrew the screw in the strain relief (F). Carefully pull and push the cord (H) through the canopy (E) and strain relief (F) to adjust its length.
- Once the desired height is achieved, carefully tighten the screw until snug.
Note: To prevent the cord (H) from slipping out of the canopy (E), tie an overhand knot in the cord.
- If necessary, shorten the fixture wires from the cord (H) so that they are at least 6 inches (152.4 mm) long above the canopy (E) within the outlet box.
- Carefully pass the supply wires through the mounting plate (A). Secure the mounting plate (A) to the outlet box using the mounting screws (D).
Note: The side of the mounting plate (A) marked "GND" must face outwards.
- Make wire connections. Connect wires as shown in the charts below. Important: The ground wire is bare copper. Never connect other wires to the ground wires.
Connecting Ground Wires:
- Connect the outlet box ground wire to the fixture ground wire using the green ground screw. (Refer to Diagram A & B for visual guide: Diagram A shows a single ground wire connection, Diagram B shows connection with a cupped washer and dimples for grounding).
Connecting Supply Wires:
Connect Black or Red Supply Wire to: Connect White Supply Wire to: Black (*Parallel cord, round & smooth) White (*Parallel cord, square & ridged) Clear, Brown, Gold or Black without tracer Clear, Brown, Gold or Black with tracer Insulated wire (other than green) with copper conductor Insulated wire (other than green) with silver conductor Note: When using parallel wires (SPT-1 & SPT-2), the neutral wire is square-shaped or ridged, and the other wire is round-shaped or smooth.
- Twist wires together using a plastic wire connector (C) until tightly joined.
- Wrap each connector with approved electrical tape for a more secure connection.
- Carefully tuck all wires into the outlet box.
- Fix the canopy (E) to the mounting plate (A) and secure it using the previously removed ball knobs (G).
Note: The canopy (E) should be snug against the ceiling. If not, adjust the threaded length of the pre-assembled mounting screws on the mounting plate (A): first, unscrew the pre-assembled hex nuts; then, screw the pre-assembled mounting screws in or out of the mounting plate (A); when the secure length is achieved, tighten the pre-assembled hex nuts and return to step 8.
- Install the glass shade:
- Remove the socket ring (K) from the socket (I).
- Carefully place the glass shade (J) onto the socket (I), then screw the socket ring (K) back onto the socket to secure it.
Note: When installing the socket ring (K), ensure the side with the rolled edge faces upward.
- Install the bulb (not included). Do not exceed the maximum wattage recommended for the socket.
- Check that everything is installed properly, then you can turn on the light. Enjoy your new lighting!
