User Guide and Operating Instructions
Introduction
This document provides instructions for the Starfrit Electronic Kitchen Scale. Please read all instructions carefully before use to ensure proper operation and longevity of the product.

LCD Screen
The LCD screen displays weight, volume, and status indicators. Key elements include:
- Tare function indicator: [tare icon] (appears when tare function is active)
- Zero function indicator: [zero icon] (appears when zero function is active)
- Negative value indicator: (appears if weight is removed after taring)
- Working modes: [weight mode icon] (for weight), [milk mode icon] (for milk volume), [water mode icon] (for water volume)
- Units: Displays units like g, lb:oz, ml, fl'oz
Operating Instructions
Getting Started
- Place the scale on a solid and flat surface.
- Press the to turn the scale ON.
- Wait until the LCD shows "0" to start weighing.
Weighing Mode
To weigh an object:
- Ensure the scale is in weight mode (display shows 'g' or 'lb:oz'). If not, press the to convert.
- Load the object onto the scale. The LCD will show the weight reading.
Volume Weighing Mode (Milk/Water)
To measure the volume of milk or water:
- Place the scale on a solid and flat surface and turn it ON.
- Press the until the desired volume unit (ml or fl'oz) is displayed.
- Place an empty container on the weighing platform.
- Press the to reset the LCD screen to "0". This is the Tare function for the container.
- Pour the liquid (water or milk) into the container. The LCD screen will indicate the volume of the liquid.
Zero and Tare Functions
These functions allow consecutive weighing without needing to remove items from the platform. They are useful for weighing ingredients in a container without including the container's weight.
- Zero Function: When the total load on the scale is less than 7 oz (200 g), pressing the will reset the display to "0". A [zero icon] will appear on the LCD. This does not reduce the scale's maximum capacity.
- Tare Function: When the total load on the scale is over 7 oz (200 g), pressing the will reset the display to "0" and show a [tare icon] on the LCD. The scale's remaining capacity is reduced by the tared amount.
If the scale is under Tare condition (display shows "0" with [tare icon]), pressing the
will show the total weight of all loads.Auto Shut Off & Manual Shut Off
- Auto Shut Off: The scale will automatically turn off if the display shows "0" or the same weight reading for approximately 2 minutes to conserve battery life.
- Manual Shut Off: To maximize battery life, it is recommended to turn off the scale manually. Press and hold the for 3 seconds. The scale will turn off.
Batteries
- This scale requires 2 AAA batteries, which are included.
- Before first use, remove the isolation sheet from the battery compartment.
To Replace Batteries
- Open the battery case cover located underneath the scale.
- Take out the used batteries and install new ones, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery case cover securely.
Advice for Use & Care
- Always use the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface.
- Clean the scale with a slightly damp cloth.
- Avoid contact with water. DO NOT immerse the scale in water.
- Clean all plastic parts immediately after contact with fat, spices, vinegar, or strongly flavored/colored food. Avoid contact with acid citrus juices.
- DO NOT use chemical or abrasive cleaning agents.
- This scale is designed for household use only; it is not intended for commercial use.
Low Battery & Overload Indicators
- 1. Low battery power: The LCD will display "Lo". Please replace the batteries.
- 2. Overload: The LCD will display "Err". Remove the item immediately to avoid damage to the scale. The maximum capacity for this scale is 11 lb / 5 kg.
