Soundbar Control Panel
The soundbar features a control panel for basic operations:
- Power Button (1): Press to power on the soundbar. Hold for 3 seconds to power off.
- Input Mode Button (2): Press to cycle through input channels: ARC, Optical, Coaxial, Bluetooth (BT), AUX, USB. Hold for 3 seconds to switch to BT mode and initiate pairing.
- Volume Up Button (3): Increases the volume level.
- Volume Down Button (4): Decreases the volume level.
- Play/Pause Button (5): Functions only in BT and USB modes. In USB mode, holding this button for 3 seconds toggles between single-track loop and full-list loop playback.
Remote Control
The included remote control offers full access to soundbar functions:
- Power (1): Turns the soundbar on or off.
- Input Select (2): Cycles through input sources: ARC, Optical, Coaxial, AUX, USB.
- Bluetooth (3): Switches to Bluetooth mode and enters pairing mode. Hold for 3 seconds to disconnect.
- Volume Up (4): Increases the volume.
- Previous (5): Skips to the previous track in BT and USB modes.
- Volume Down (6): Decreases the volume.
- Movie Mode (7): Selects Movie sound mode (display shows "Eq01").
- BASSMX (8): Enhances bass response. Press again to return to normal bass levels.
- Mute (9): Mutes or unmutes the audio output.
- Play/Pause (10): Controls playback in BT and USB modes. In USB mode, holding for 3 seconds switches between single-track loop ("ONE") and list loop ("ALL").
- Next (11): Skips to the next track in BT and USB modes.
- Game Mode (12): Selects Game sound mode (display shows "Eq02").
- Music Mode (13): Selects Music sound mode (display shows "Eq03").
Connections
Connect your ULTIMEA Nova S40 to your audio sources:
Connecting to the Subwoofer
Connect the subwoofer to the soundbar using the designated SUB OUT port.
Connecting to the TV via ARC
Steps:
- Step 01: Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the ARC/eARC port on your TV.
- Step 02: Connect the other end to the HDMI ARC port on the soundbar.
- Step 03: Press the "ARC" button on the remote control to select the "ARC" input.
Understanding HDMI Ports:
- HDMI IN: Standard input for connecting devices, supports audio/video but not ARC/eARC.
- HDMI ARC: Supports two-way communication, allowing audio to be sent from TV to soundbar and vice versa.
- HDMI eARC: An updated version of ARC, supporting higher quality audio formats like Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
Note: When ARC is connected, your TV's remote can control the soundbar's power and volume. If no sound is heard, ensure your TV's audio output is set to PCM (TV Settings > Home > Settings > Sound > Digital Audio Output > PCM).
Connecting to the TV via Optical, Coaxial, or AUX
Option 1: Optical Connection
- Ensure your TV's audio output port is set to OPTICAL OUT.
- Connect the OPTICAL OUT port from your TV to the OPTICAL IN port on the soundbar.
- If audio plays from the TV's internal speakers, mute or lower the TV volume.
Option 2: Coaxial Connection
- Ensure your TV's audio output port is set to COAXIAL OUT.
- Connect the COAXIAL OUT port from your TV to the COAXIAL IN port on the soundbar.
- If audio plays from the TV's internal speakers, mute or lower the TV volume.
Option 3: AUX Connection
- Use the provided 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable.
- Connect the TV's AUDIO OUT port to the AUX IN port on the soundbar.
If no sound is heard after connection, try setting your TV's audio output to PCM (TV Settings > Home > Settings > Sound > Digital Audio Output > PCM).
Wall Mount Installation
Follow these steps to mount the soundbar on your wall:
- Determine the desired mounting location and mark the positions for the wall brackets based on the soundbar's dimensions and desired height (refer to diagrams for measurements like 120mm, 20mm, 5mm, 28mm, 300mm).
- Securely attach the wall brackets to the wall using appropriate hardware (not included).
- Attach the corresponding brackets to the back of the soundbar.
- Carefully align the soundbar with the wall brackets and slide it into place until it is securely mounted.
