Installation
The sink drain assembly consists of the following parts:
- Drain Body
- Rubber Gasket
- Washer
- Lock Nut
- Tailpiece
- Remove the tailpiece (5), lock nut (4), washer (3), and rubber gasket (2) from the drain body (1).
- Apply a small bead of silicone caulking around the drain opening of the sink or the underside of the flange of the drain body (1). Do not use plumbers putty.
- Insert the drain body (1) downwardly into the drain opening of the sink. The threaded end of the drain body (1) should come out beneath the sink.
- Install the rubber gasket (2), washer (3), and lock nut (4) one by one onto the drain body (1) from the underside of the sink. Turn the rubber gasket (2) and move it up against the drain opening, ensuring the tapered surface of the rubber gasket (2) is upward.
- Turn the lock nut (4) and tighten it using a wrench until the rubber gasket (2) completely and tightly seals the drain opening beneath the sink.
- Apply Teflon tape on the threaded end of the tailpiece (5). Then, connect it with the outlet of the drain body (1).
- Turn on the faucet to full open to fill the sink with water, or pour in a large amount of water at a time. Examine and make sure there is no water leakage around the rubber gasket (2) or the connection with the tailpiece (5) beneath the sink.
- If leakage is found, adjust the rubber gasket (2) and re-tighten the lock nut (4) or re-connect the tailpiece (5) until no more leakage occurs.
