Model Information:
MODELS:
E100V: Dehumidifier (requires 8190FF)
8190FF: Ventilation Plenum for AprilAire Dehumidifier
Benefits
- Helps control RH in the home during periods when the air conditioning system does not run long enough to remove sufficient moisture. If air conditioner can satisfy RH requirements, the AprilAire unit's compressor shuts off.
- Optimize energy savings by locking out ventilation during hottest/ coldest times of the day.
- Improves indoor air quality.
- Installation labor reduced, requires only a power outlet and 24 volt wiring to HVAC system.
Compliance with Standards:
When properly installed and set, the AprilAire Ventilating Dehumidifier will meet the mechanical ventilation requirements of:
- ASHRAE 62.2
- Energy Star Certified Homes
- EPA Indoor airPLUS
- International Residential Code (IRC)

Diagrams and Dimensions
Overall Dimensions:
The unit consists of two main components: the dehumidifier (E100V) and the ventilation plenum (8190FF). The combined dimensions are approximately: Width: 14 1/2 inches, Height: 23 1/2 inches (without adjustable feet), Length: 48 1/4 inches. The ventilation plenum is mounted on top of the dehumidifier, adding to the overall height.
Control Panel Interface:
The unit features a built-in digital control panel with a display. Key functions are accessed via buttons:
- ON/OFF Button: Used to turn the ventilator on and off.
- MODE Button: Used to access ventilation time setting.
- UP/DOWN Buttons: Used to change humidity or vent time settings.
Ducting the Ventilating Dehumidifier:
The system can be installed in various configurations to bring fresh air into the home:
Attic Installation:
This setup involves connecting a fresh air intake hood (equipped with a screen) via a duct to the unit. The dehumidifier/ventilator unit is then connected to the HVAC system's return air or a mixing box. Air is drawn from the outside through the intake and processed by the unit before being supplied to the living space.
Basement Installation:
In a basement installation, fresh air is pulled from outside through an intake hood and duct. This air is then directed to the dehumidifier/ventilator unit. The processed air is integrated with the HVAC system, typically via a furnace or air handler, and distributed through the home's ductwork. A minimum of 6 feet of clearance is recommended for the ducting.
