This guide details the installation of the SALTO XS4 Original+ electronic lock, compatible with EURO mortise locks and tubular latches.
Supported Models: Ei4xx series, Ei4xxE5 series, Ei450 xx series, Ei451 xx, Ei461 xx, T4xx.. series, and Electronic Info Models (W40M, W40T, W40MH).
Ingress Protection (IP) Ratings:
- Ei4xx series: IP54 (Outside), IP44 (Inside)
- Ei4xxE5 series: IP56 (Outside), IP44 (Inside)
Key Dimensions:
The lock mechanism and mounting require specific dimensions, including approximately 121mm, 161mm, 145mm, 105mm, 20mm, and 40mm for various components and clearances.
Required Hole Diameters:
- Main mechanism hole: Ø25mm [Ø1"]
- Spindle/bolt hole: Ø14mm [Ø9/16"]

Note: Specific parts are required for doors exceeding 60mm [2-3/8"] thickness.
Components and Tools
Tools Required: TORX 20 (x2), TORX 20 (x1), TORX 20 (x2), ALLEN 3 (x2), BOLT (type/quantity varies).
Essential Components: Mortise Lock (not included), SALTO LT2Lxx Tubular Latch (for "A2" versions).
Important: Use only with SALTO compatible escutcheons.
Recommendation: Use a mortise lock with a maximum 4° pre-turn angle.
Installation Steps
Follow these steps for a successful installation:
1. Select Handing
Determine the correct handing (left/right) for the door handles.
2. Prepare Door and Install Lock
Drill required holes (Ø14mm [Ø9/16"] and MIN. Ø25mm [MIN. 1"]). Insert the mortise lock and the SALTO LT2Lxx tubular latch (if applicable) into the door edge.

3. Attach Handles
Insert the spindle through the mortise lock. Fit the exterior and interior handles onto the spindle and secure them using the provided TORX or ALLEN screws.

4. Mount Escutcheons and Secure Mechanism
Place the escutcheons (cover plates) on the door and fasten the internal components of the lock mechanism. Ensure proper alignment.

5. Critical Warning: Program Before Closing

6. Battery Installation
Install the required LR03 batteries into the lock unit, observing correct polarity. The diagram indicates "MAX.40"" which may relate to battery performance.

- Mortise Lock Compatibility: If using an LE7Sxx series mortise lock, an unplugging step may be necessary.
