1-10V Dimming Curve
A graph illustrates the light output percentage based on the control voltage (U V).
Switch-Dim Functionality
The Switch-Dim interface allows simple dimming using non-latching (momentary) wall switches. Up to 50 LED drivers can be connected to one switch.
Switch Action and Response:
- Short press (<0.4 second): Toggle light on/off.
- Long press (>0.4 second): Toggle dim light / increase brightness.
Synchronization:
- Long press (>15 seconds): All lights will dim down to minimum then return to 50% brightness.
Note: The number of drivers connected to a switch should not exceed 25 pieces. The maximum length of the wires from push to driver should be no more than 20 meters.
1-10V Dimming
The 1-10V input is operable via commercially available simple rotary wall switches or dedicated system central dimming controllers.
Note: If the driver is used with Switch-Dim or interface prior to 1-10V interface, the 1-10V interface may need to be re-set by placing a short circuit across the 1-10V terminals until the light returns to full brightness (approx. 3-5 seconds).
Self-testing Feature
Routine testing of emergency lighting is required by law (IEC62034, EN50172). Hytronik HEM09 / HEM09H models have an internal clock to perform:
- 3-minute functional test every month.
- 3-hour functional test every 6 months.
- Self-test starts after luminaires are connected to an uninterrupted mains supply for over 24 hours.
- Permanently monitors battery and charge condition.
- Dual fault indication via red LED and buzzer.
- Automatic random test to avoid simultaneous testing of adjacent luminaires.
Manual Testing
A test switch performs the following functions:
- Monthly Test / Fault reset (Short push <5s): Green LED flashes once, initiates monthly 3-minute test. Clears any rectified fault indicators.
- 6-month test initiation (Long push >5s <10s): Buzzer beeps twice, battery charges for 24h, followed by a 6-month duration test. Green LED flashes twice every 3 seconds during discharge.
- Full duration test initiation (Long push >10s): Buzzer beeps three times, initiates a full duration discharge. Green LED flashes three times every 3 seconds during discharge.
Bi-Colour LED Diagnostics
Provides status information through LED flashes and buzzer sounds for various conditions:

Tri-level Control (Corridor Function)
This function allows tri-level control for areas requiring light change notices before switch-off. It offers 3 levels of light (100% -> dimmed light -> off) and selectable waiting times.
- With sufficient natural light, the light does not switch on when presence is detected.
- With insufficient natural light, the sensor switches on the light automatically when presence is detected.
- After hold-time, the light dims to stand-by level if the surrounding natural light is below the daylight threshold.
- Light switches off automatically after the stand-by period elapses.
24h Daylight Monitoring Function
This function uses an antenna with a built-in daylight sensor to provide a "smart photocell" function, activated when stand-by period is set to "+∞ ".
Demonstration scenarios show light behavior at different times (21:00, 21:10, 21:40, 08:10, 17:40) based on movement and ambient light.
Settings example: Hold-time: 10min, Daylight threshold: 50lux, Stand-by dimming level: 10%, Stand-by period: +∞.
Manual Override: Allows end-user to switch on/off or adjust brightness via a push-switch.
- Short Push (<1s): on/off function.
- Long Push (>1s): adjust the hold-time brightness level between 10% and 100%.
Note: If manual override is not desired, leave the "push" terminal unconnected.
Semi-auto Mode (Absence Detection)
This mode uses a motion sensor activated by a manual press of a push switch. The light stays ON in presence, dims in absence, and switches off in long absence. This combination saves energy while maintaining efficient lighting.
- The light does not switch on when presence is detected (unless manually activated).
- Short push to activate the sensor and switch on the light.
- The light turns on full, and the sensor stays in sensor mode.
- The light keeps being ON during presence.
- People leave, the light dims to stand-by level after the hold-time.
- The light switches off automatically after the stand-by period elapses.
Note: End-user can choose between manual override or semi-auto mode. Default mode is manual override.
Remote Control Functions (HRC-05)
The remote control (HRC-05) offers various functions:
- Permanent ON/OFF function: Press "ON/OFF" to permanently switch the light on or off, disabling the sensor. Pressing "Auto Mode", "RESET", or "Scene mode" quits this mode. The mode reverts to AUTO after power failure.
- Auto Mode: Sensor functions with the latest settings.
- Reset function: Press "RESET" to return all settings to default.
- Dim +/-: Long press "Dim +" or "Dim -" to adjust brightness during hold-time.
- Test mode: Initiates a test mode (2s hold-time, disabled stand-by period and daylight sensor). Ended by pressing "reset", "scene mode", or "hold-time" buttons.
- Power output: Switches output between 80% and 100% for energy saving.
- Ambient daylight threshold: Sets the daylight threshold by overwriting the previous learned lux value.
- Lux disable: Disables the daylight sensor, allowing motion detection to turn on the light regardless of natural light.
- Manual override / Semi-auto mode: Switches between manual override (buzzer beeps twice) and Semi-auto mode (buzzer beeps once).
Scene mode
Four preset scene modes are available via the remote control:
Scene options | Detection range | Hold-time | Stand-by period | Stand-by dimming level | Daylight sensor |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
SC1 | 100% | 1 min | 10min | 10% | 2Lux |
SC2 | 100% | 5min | 10min | 10% | 2Lux |
SC3 | 100% | 10min | 30min | 10% | 10Lux |
SC4 | 100% | 10min | +∞ | 10% | 50Lux |
End-user can adjust these settings using the respective buttons on the remote control. The last setting remains valid.
